Park in Kenmare

I am a little torn writing this review as there were many great things about our stay at Park Hotel Kenmare, but ultimately perhaps it did not live up to the 5 star hotel billing. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the hotel and grounds lovely and the food was excellent. But I think attention to detail is lacking and that is everything when you book a 5 star. The room balcony was right on top of a construction site due to the spa being renovated which completely took away any desire to be out there. The wallpaper on entry to the room is badly stained which is the first thing you see on entering the room. The shower was trickling out, although this was fixed on the second day of our stay. The toilet was also dripping very loudly so we had to put a cloth in the sistern. We went to the pool on our 2nd morning only to find the sauna had not been turned on and would take 1 hour to warm up. This was extremely disappointing as its one of the reasons we booked this hotel. The breakfast was interesting: The food itself - Beautiful! But a strange atmosphere due to lack of music and waiters seeming stressed due to being under staffed perhaps. It is sit down service for everything so they ask you what you want from the whole menu at the start which puts you under pressure immediately to decide on all options. The toast doesn't come with the fry up..then the croissants choices come out while you are eating your breakfast, at which point its difficult to make that decision. Mini problems in the grand scheme of things - But if you are going to pay the big bucks for a 5 star hotel experience, they should be getting all of these "smaller" details right in my opinion.

Amazing hotel, high quality service, beautiful food

We had a lovely stay and were very impressed by the level of service throughout the hotel. The staff made it especially special, particularly the manager at reception and the front door staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Although the spa was closed for renovations, the service was amazing which made up for it. We’re already looking forward to returning in the Summer!

The gardens at Park Hotel Kenmare are magnificent! It's not just grounds, but a whole space for inspiration. Well-maintained paths and lush greenery are ideal for morning and evening strolls. Be sure to visit the coastal part — the views there are simply breathtaking.

Such a beautiful hotel, amazing service from check-in to check-out. Location & views are unmatched. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Park Hotel in mid-August. The hotel is so unique and well appointed, the service was spectacular. The location is very walkable to the quaint downtown with additional restaurants and shops to explore. The spa is top notch and the vitality pool was amazing. Our only regret was only visiting the pool once! We also enjoyed afternoon tea which was a a highlight of our trip. The walking trails are easy and peaceful. This was such a magical place to visit, we really enjoyed our time together here resting, relaxing and enjoying this beautiful hotel.

This was by far and away the best place we stayed in Ireland and some of the finest service in the world. Ava greeted us as we arrived and sat to chat with us about the hotel, the art collection displayed, and her own experience that led her to Ireland and the hotel. By the time we were handed a key (a real key!) we felt like we were ladies being welcomed home to our estate. The food service and kindness was on par and the food itself was exquisite and elevated. The grounds are lovely and Kenmare itself it one of the finest small towns in the country. Seek out Paul Brown for a private tour of the Ring of Kerry. He will pick you up right at the hotel. I absolutely loved this place and cannot wait to return.

From the glass of rosé at check in, we had a lovely time! The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Harvey, Jude and Manon. We did a whiskey tasting/history with Harvey which was great, and our meals were all delicious. I’d love to return to the Kenmare Park Hotel if we are ever in the area again. So far, it’s the best pour of Guinness that I’ve had in Ireland!!

From the welcome we received to the comfort of our room and the quality of our meals...everything gets 10 out of 10. A wonderful hotel, truly.
