Phenomenal lunch and generous servings. Each dish was absolutely exquisite with excellent ingredients. The cheese cart is a real treat. Taking the quality into account I think its good value. The staff were top class too.

Highly Recommended. Fantastic Dinner - enjoyed the à la carte 3 course menu: Appetiser: Croquette of Suckling Pig & Hand Dived Scallops. Eventhough they provided the Red Autumn Salad by mistake, which was not to my taste. The scallops were amazing. Meat: Red Leg Partridge & Sika Deer in Pancetta. Dessert: Soufflé of Piedmont Hazelnut & Black Fig “Pastilla” The food was sensational (except salad) and a fabulous experience. We had different wines for each course. I did not feel the wine justified the price. The service was very efficient and professional. Overall a wonderful experience.

I had very high expectations, given that it was a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, especially since I've eaten at many places around the world—most without stars—that have been extraordinary gastronomic experiences. Unfortunately, this place fell far short of my expectations. The service was inconsistent and, at times, disappointing. When we asked for cocktail recommendations, one staff member was completely unhelpful; another did give us a good recommendation, which turned out to be the only truly good cocktail of the evening. The rest of the recommended drinks were too basic, like a soft drink with a little alcohol added, which is completely unjustifiable for the price. Even the most basic details failed the experience: one of the breads they served was incredibly hard, literally impossible to bite into, so I couldn't eat it. This is something you don't expect at a restaurant of this caliber. In terms of value for money, the experience is not worth the price. At that price point, one expects excellence in both the food and the service, and that wasn't the case here. The end of the evening was especially frustrating: initially, there were about seven attentive waiters at our table, but when we asked for the bill, they simply vanished. We raised our hands repeatedly, and no one approached. We had to wait over half an hour to pay, each of us paying separately, which left a very bad final impression. Honestly, I wouldn't return. There are many restaurants without Michelin stars that offer much better experiences than this one.

Excellent lunch with friends; everything was perfect, the dishes were refined, delicate, and delicious, the setting is truly pleasant, and the staff were charming and attentive. A lovely restaurant in the Hotel Merrion.

The service in this place is what stood out for me. The waiters and waitresses were all so friendly but very professional at the same time. What really did it for me though was when the staff noticed I hadn’t eaten my foie gras amuse bouche, they brought me out an alternative. And then for my appetiser, they removed the foie gras from it without me having to ask. Such a nice touch and shows the staff are really on the ball. Food was excellent as well needless to say! Unfortunately only took photos of the desserts, but the whole meal was wonderful

The Stag's Head

18/01/2026: I visited The Stag’s Head around 1:00 pm for lunch, mainly because I was curious to try their Guinness beef stew. When I arrived, it looked like most people were just having drinks, but the waitress explained that many were actually waiting for food. Even though the pub was nearly full, I was able to get a table straight away, which was great. The wait for food was about 19 minutes, which felt reasonable given how busy it was. The stew itself was decent and comforting, but not particularly memorable. It was quite vegetable-heavy, with less beef than I expected. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch experience with good service and atmosphere, though the Guinness beef stew wasn’t quite a standout for me personally.
18/01/2026: Was recommended by a local in a coffee shop to visit ! Now can’t fault the place and would say best pub we visited during our stay in Ireland! Atmosphere 10/10 ! Staff omg amazing at the bar and table service available! Went for one drink stayed for 5 and will say the best pint poured and what you call normal prices around £6 a pint for great Guinness ! Keep up the great work
