Peking House in Waterford

I had their 3 course set menu. I started with their spare ribs. I got two pieces with plenty of meat on them served with a sweet chilli sauce. I have to say that they were the most tender and moist spare ribs that I have had to date. The main course was beef Sichuan with fried rice. The plate was hot, the dish came out with dramatic sizzling, and the rice was freshly cooked. Overall an excellent dish. Decent serving with a good selection of vegetables and the beef was reasonably tender. The sauce was lovely even if it was on the mild side for a Sichuan. Proper coffee was served afterwards, not the cheap coffee that you get served in many Chinese restaurants. It came with a fortune cookie and a coffee biscuit. This meal also came with prawn crackers prior to the starters being served. The quality of the drinking water was also excellent. It is a large restaurant with good space between tables. The staff were lovely and you could see that it meant a lot to them that everything was ok for you. I did have a laugh when I got the bill which included the time that you ordered your food and opposite was exit, ASAP. Overall I received a lovely meal served by lovely staff. I would have no problem in recommending this Chinese Restaurant.

Excellent Chinese food in Waterford! Be aware their portions are generous. We each ordered from their menu where we had a starter and an entree and could’ve easily shared. The spring rolls, fried wontons, hot and sour soup were wonderful starters and the chicken Mee Gorgen, chicken fried rice, were also flavorful and delicious. Great spice level for those of us who enjoy it! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for Chinese food in Waterford!

"Patience will very often bear fruits... Or delicious Chinese meals.." After a long day of travelling, my wife and I decided to eat at this restaurant around 22:00, when all the other places were closed. We were welcomed by a beautiful rose for my wife, a splendid atmosphere and a very quiet, yet alive place. The dishes took a bit of time to arrive (maybe 45-50 minutes), but they quickly made us forget this detail with enormous portions of delicious food. The staff was friendly, caring and smiling. A MUST-GO for all people passing by Waterford.
