A little dated, great staff and service.

Great value hotel and great location for a short walk into buncrana.

Have had the best few days in this lovely hotel. The service was second to none and the food was lovely. Will definitely be back 🍀

The hotel rooms, location, hotel staff, atmosphere etc, all very good. Our party has had an issue with the food in the bar. There were 8 of us. We arrived in 2 groups of 4. We ordered from the Bar food menu. We were well within the displayed opening times. And the 3 people in our group who ordered a burger os some sort were all happy with their meal. I had the traditional fish and chips. Chips were fine, but the batter on the fish was hard and tasteless. The fish itself was fine. The salad garnish looked as if it had been on the plate since that morning. Someone else has the oriental noodles with chicken. The lack of cruchy vegetables was noticeable. Dreadful. The chicken supreme has a sauce covering a poorly cooked piece of chicken. What is described as fluffy potatoes were tasteless. Someone else had a roast potato that could not be pierced with knife or fork. Lastly, the staff appeared very young, and although pleasant, did not seem to understand the simple basics of serving customers. We had to ask for cutlery twice. When tap water was asked for, it was plonked down on our table and there was some spillage. The young boy serving didn't seem to notice. I just wondered if they had had any input from management as to exactly what their duties were. Suffice it to say that unless there is considerable improvement, throughout we won't be ordering food there again.

Fabulous, alot to offer, will go back

Everything was great staff accommodation and food but a major drawback was that for the second year in a row the swimming pool and leisure centre were closed for major repairs this put a total downer on the week as it is one of the reasons that we have been coming to this lovely hotel for the past 5 yrs

Have stayed here before but that was about 13 years ago. One of our group is using crutches as they recently had a hip operation so from a mobility perspective they get a big tick. There is a ramp into the building and a lift to the restaurant and our rooms, beds and bench seating in the bar were a good height so no issue getting up or down. Downsides: The A/c in the room didn’t work and the room got very hot in the night. We were going to eat in the restaurant but the next available seating slot wasn’t for another hour so we decided to eat in the bar. The tables we sat at had not been wiped down and there were bits of food on the floor. The waitress came over and took the order and drinks but over 30 minutes later we were still waiting for both. Eventually a man brought out the roast dinner and one fish dish both should have been served with vegetables as per our order. The man came on two more occasions, once to talk to a server and another time to customers on the other side of the room but three of us were still waiting for our food and the other two had only been given part of their meal. if you bring out food to a group you should serve it together, I wouldn’t have minded if the two had started their meal without us but as they only received part of it they couldn’t. I stopped another server and told her we had ordered food and drinks; 2 part dishes had been brought out and no drinks; give her her dues she apologised and said she would speak to him. The food eventually came out and you could see the steam coming off the vegetables but by this time the first two plates had cooled. The male server apologies and told us we won’t be charged for our drinks, which he repeated on another two occasions but it was only a pint of Guinness and two Cokes, you’d think we had a massive bar tab he’d cleared. I ordered the classic burger and chips. The past couple of hotels I’ve stayed in I’ve ordered similar, it was on a plate with a bit of salad, maybe some coleslaw, the point being that it was presented nicely; this was just a burger in a bun and some chips. Chips were okay, burger nothing to write home about and I waited over 30 minutes for it. 15 minutes after we finished eating someone eventually decided to clear away our plates. Some of the group decided to have a dessert and then decided to go back to their room to fresher up but first went to pay for the meal they were about to enter their pin and realised that the amount was for over €200 and our meal was only about €140; the staff had tried to charge him for the wrong table. 15 minutes after they’d left I had to ask a member of staff to clear and wipe down the table, the staff walking by didn’t seem to notice the table was empty and needed cleaning. Behind the bar the blonde lady and the lad with the long hair were efficient but delays occurred as they only had one card machine and the connection was slow so that caused delays. Upside: Room was nice and clean, big bathroom with step free walk in shower. Breakfast was in the restaurant and was a self service buffet. We waited to be shown to our seats and tea/ coffee and toast was brought out. There was a good selection of cereals, some pastries and gluten free bread which had its own toaster. The buffet tray were full of sausages, bacon, scrambled and fried eggs, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and black and white pudding. Overall the rooms are nice, breakfast was great but the stay was spoilt by the previous nights poor service and delays.

Have stayed many times with golfer's trips. Also took family to stay. Hotel staff could not do any better. Will be back again.

Tasty food, friendly staff, really nice views and delicious cocktails. Will be back!
