Pig's Ear in Dublin

Very “fun” menu. The oyster and beef tartare is probably the most unique surf and turf dish I’ve ever seen.

We got recommended to go to this restaurant by some friends we were visiting in Dublin. All of us went together for the first time and it did not disappoint. All the food we got was phenomenal across all the courses. I think the dishes that stood out the most to the group were the salmon starter and the cod main dish. (Don’t be fooled by them saying that the chicken pie is for two people, that could easily feed a family for lol.) It was all delicious. The dessert they had that was really good was an orange cake with citrus custard and ice cream on top that we all really loved. Atmosphere is really fun cause you’re on the first floor and looking out on the street level. Sets a nice ambience, but also isn’t too serious. It got pretty busy there so the service dropped a little bit but nothing to out of the ordinary. If you’re feeling a multicourse meal with really high-quality Michelin star food without having to get all dressed up, this is the place in Dublin to go.

The restaurant has its own vibe and goes with it. Most definitely want a reservation as seating is limited but well worth it.

Great dinner spot in Dublin - especially on a rainy day. The shepherds pie and mulligatawny chicken pie were incredible. Was recommended this restaurant from a family friend and enjoyed everything about it.

I had many fine meals in Dublin, mostly at pubs, beef or lamb (Guinness) stew. Here I want to praise an Irish-food Michelin-mentioned restaurant that was not only excellent, but refined as well. After a fine Old-Fashioned (Irish whiskey, of course), I had a magnificent plate of peas, offered crackling with other fine green sprouts. I usually don’t anymore have hors d’oeuvre, main plate, and then dessert, but this was great, and Michelin touch is that it is light, after all. My main dish was lamb, deboned beautifully with the bones, a lovely slight sauce on top accented, but not at all dominated, by salsa verde. They had (home-made) ice cream, pretty much the only dessert I can swallow at my age after a grand dish. I’ve forgotten the wine, but it was perfect with the lamb; I also felt a little ashamed not to be drinking Guinness. (I can assure you, as well as Michelin, that the red wine was fine.) The name “Pig’s ear” is an act of defiance. "You can’t make a silk purse from a (sow’s) ear," but they can make a superb meal of standard Irish food.

Spectacular food. I had the Jammet’s Mixed Grill and it was stunning. The pork belly (I think?) was the highlight, it literally gave my chills as I tasted it. The Molly’s orange seed cake was fantastic as well. Also the service from everyone was super warm, which I don’t always get when I travel alone. Thank you so much, I will definitely come back if I visit Dublin again!

We were offered several excellent traditional dishes, I opted for the Shepards pie, it was delicious. I tasted the cod dish, also spectacular. The service was impeccable. I finished my meal with the house cheesecake and a tawny port. I recommend this place as a “must try” even if you were only in Dublin for a single night.

Some really yummy food across the menu. The portion sizes were perfect to leave very satisfied without feeling bloated (had 3 courses, a glass of wine and a cocktail). Could do more to create a bit of a vibe inside as it was neither in the realm of fine dining, nor casual enough to feel completely comfortable having a full volume conversation.

The food was really good. The service could be improved, agree to all previous comments on staff, specially the owner - seems like asking on the dishes was a personal offence. Staff were also not very attentive. Slightly pricey for the portion size, but overall good.

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. The service was incredible, don't be shy about asking what some things are if you aren't sure. They will be more than happy to guide you. We ordered the Jammet's Mixed Grill, Leo Burdock's Cod, and Greens for our main course. All of it was very good, I'd highly recommend the Mixed Grill. We also had the cheesecake and Orange Seed Cake as dessert. Both were very good, just the right amount of something sweet after dinner.
