We only come down here once every few months, but the staff are always so very friendly and courteous as well. Any food we have gotten from here has been absolutely lovely, from the Ice Cream, Pizza, Wraps etc If you are passing by, it is worth a wee stop off

I enjoy having my salad here almost everyday while taking my placement around. Very welcome atmosphere and cosy place for sitting down for a while.

Wasn’t expecting to find this gem of a cafe next to the glamour of Castle Leslie but here it is!! They had one of the most delicious sambos of my life (Italian) and their creamy, rich gelato was great (and I don’t even really like ice cream!!) We ended up eating here four times, even though we had dinner included in our castle package!! Also- chocolate muffins were de-lic-ious!!!

What a sweet wee place. We were awaiting check in at the castle and came here for a snack. Pizza was superb and the Staff were excellent. Highly recommended wee spot

A warm, friendly staff and owner that welcomes customers with a smile and good service. Poconos serves lovely gelato/ice cream, coffee/tea sandwiches, soups, pizza and bakery treats. A home like atmosphere for tea, takeaway or a full meal.

We had soup,a sandwich and a drink. We sat upstairs where it was warm and comfortable. The wall was adorned with wise sayings from past scholars. The soup was delicious and filled us up for the rest of the day. We came out of the restaurant having enjoyed our visit there and felt we had made a very wise choice.

21/04/2025: Great experience at the estate. Staff were very attentive. Maria in the restaurant was amazing.
20/04/2025: Went today with the whole family for Easter lunch. It was absolutely delicious and the service was second to none. Apart from the fact it was totally booked out and bustling. We had attentive service and hospitality second to none. Hats off to all of the staff.🐣🥰

Ambledown Cottage

06/05/2025: The real rating would be 3.5 stars. The experience was only let down by a persistent fly in the little room we were in, a rather gloomy member of staff that served us (but hey, we all have bad days), but most importantly, the food. The pizza was nice and I especially like how they don't skimp on the toppings or extra parm, but the base was soggy and tasted just like asdas cheapest pizzas. I don't think it was worth the price. In summary; a lovely place but the pizza base really needs to improve
