We have been on holiday in the area for almost a week and this is by far the best meal we have had during our travels and we have had some great food. Absolutely delicious, if you haven’t tried the food here yet you must, if we were not going home tomorrow we would 💯 be back .

Food is simply out of this world!!
Would consider traveling here, staying in Keenan’s Hotel beside the restaurant for the night, eating at the Onion and heading home the following morning! Gorgeous location on the banks of the Shannon! Couldn’t recommend more highly!

One of the most amazing meals that I have ever experienced. We came here for our wedding anniversary on the way to a Cottage in Sligo. My husband had the most delicious Silverhill Duck served with red cabbage & dauphinois potatoes, comparable to a fantastic restaurant in Biarritz. I had Black sole on the bone which was perfectly served with a butter sauce, al dente Brocolli & garlic baby potatoes. We also had a Cheese plate which was a fantastic Spanish blue vein served with a glass of 20 year old Port. The entire meal was superb, one that we want to repeat in the future.

Drove past this and did a u-turn as it looked so inviting. It did not disappoint! Three of us shared several small plates and a couple of desserts here - each one as delicious as the next. Fantastic to come across such creative cooking. With one of us being a vegetarian, the choices on offer were many and varied - a far cry from the bland and unimaginative lazy cheffing that is so rampant elsewhere.. Well done to you all, a great experience all round!

Very highly recommended, especially if you love wine. We ate on two occasions last week , both nights were excellent
Starters:
Carpaccio - sweet , sublime taste. Not sharp
Roll-Mops (sardines) - sharp , fresh as you would like it
Chicken salad - tasty
Mains:
Syrian Lamb - cooked tender and medium . Melts in the mouth. Once of tastiest lambs I’ve had in a while.
Pork Cutlet - nice
Fresh Chicken - cooked tender
Tomahawk Steak🥩- cooked medium ( pink) nothing left behind
Wines:
Bargylis ( Syrian Syrah) - full bodied
Amarone ( Italian ) - mellow and deep
South African Chardonnay - mellow , rich , excellent value
We also bought whiskey , and wine to take home , so really very happy .

Wow this place is amazing mixture of bar off-licence deli cigar smoking room and gallery but the main focus the food nice menu staff lovely and friendly with a good knowledge of what's on offer giving good advice I would advise booking a table as its very popular here well done guys will definitely be back

A little gem and so worth a visit. So welcoming. Amazing food, awesome staff and a beautiful, quaint setting. This place has it all. We had duck / citrus salad and fish tacos. All super. We will definitely call again next time we bike west.

I reviewed here 3 yrs ago.Its still top class.The food is lovely and if it was Dublin it'd be packed every night.The young girl at the counter is really friendly and pleasant….I think I heard her say shes local.

Six of us had a meal on Saturday night. We had a starter and main and all six of us thought it was excellent. Great atmosphere, great service, very friendly owners.
