Quay West in Donegal

We spent our last night in Donegal dining at Quay, and it didn’t disappoint. From the exceptional service to the high-quality food, everything was perfect. The steak was definitely chef-approved (we dined with a hotel chef) Plus, we were able to get a reservation for the same day. ⭐️Thanks a lot!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I was a solo diner, staying in a local hotel and decided to walk the extra few minutes to Quay West because the menu online was exactly what I was looking for. I’m so glad I did - the food, the cosy atmosphere, and the warmest of welcomes. The icing on the cake was Jo who went above and beyond in terms of service - what a lovely, unexpectedly memorable experience. I’ll be recommending Quay West to anyone visiting Donegal and I hope to be back myself very soon!

The parmigiana chicken is truly excellent

Go for the entrees, skip the dessert. The entrees were superb. We ordered the salmon dish and the haddock dish. The fish was fresh and the flavors were so well put together- especially the haddock. The desserts however… it honestly felt like a kids birthday party where the kids make their own ice cream sundaes.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at Quay West. Right from the moment we walked in the door - hospitality was excellent. I had the Chicken curry and my wife had a sirloin steak - both dishes were well cooked and full of flavour. We would thoroughly recommend dining here. Jo served us and went above and beyond to make it a great experience. They even brought our dessert out with a sparkler and sang Happy Birthday to my wife which was a lovely touch. Jo is an absolute credit to Quay West and a credit to Donegal hospitality.

Probably the best smoked haddock I have ever tasted, 6 of us dined and every meal was excellent highly recommended.

I highly recommend a visit here. We had a wonderful meal in this very comfortable restaurant. The owner/manageress was super friendly & made us feel very welcome.

We’ve just got back from a really excellent meal, and service that we have never encountered before - truly exceptional. Starting with the food, my wife asked for an adaptation of the hake dish which was done exactly as she asked. I went for the soup (delicious) followed by a sirloin which was cooked to perfection. We finished up by sharing the superb, home-baked sticky toffee pudding. So the food was brilliant and I would recommend without reservation on this alone. However, when we arrived we were chatting to Jo the owner and commented that, unfortunately, we had been unable to get a taxi so had driven in, and that this was a bit of a shame as it was our wedding anniversary and we had hoped to have a nice bottle of wine. “Don’t you worry, we’ll get you home - this is Donegal” was the response. And they did! Thank you so much to Jo and Jacinta and the staff for making it a brilliant anniversary night to remember. Goes without saying but if we’re ever in Donegal again, Quay West will be our first stop.
