Rare in Kinsale

I like a good meal. By good I mean a masterclass in balance, complexity, good ingredients magnificently combined and prepared . . . Rare provided probably the best and most interesting meal I've ever had in Ireland. Wonderful subtle Indian hints brought to Cork produce. Absolutely wonderful!

Definitely the best dining experience I've ever had. I went to Rare to celebrate my birthday and was impressed with the treatment I received. They really made me feel special!! I had a chef coming over to my table to explain every single one of the plates. It was great to learn the story behind the amazing flavour each one of the plates had. The price falls into the high-end category, but if you enjoy a unique dining experience,  I believe you won't regret visiting Rare.

I had the opportunity to enjoy this Indian restaurant in Ireland. Each dish on the menu was well thought out, with balanced flavors and thoughtful presentation, conveying authenticity and quality in every bite. The food was simply excellent. The staff's service deserves a special mention: very attentive, friendly, and with a warmth that makes the experience even more enjoyable. You can tell they care about both the product and the customer. A highly recommended place, where you can enjoy a complete and different experience, perfect for repeat visits.

As a Spaniard, Basque, and Riojan, I am incredibly fortunate to live in an area with excellent cuisine. And in my travels around Ireland, this is the first time I've been pleasantly surprised by excellent food. Good service, a convenient location, and most importantly, a most interesting tasting menu. The dishes are tasty and very well executed. The flavor of fresh produce is barely noticeable, with only a hint of spice, except to enhance some sauces and flavors, something my stomach appreciates. My sincerest congratulations to the chef. Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Ireland.

Great taste combination and wine pairing. Was surprised few times.

My Mum and I visited Rare last Thursday evening and I would absolutely recommend it. It was a culinary delight- Chef Meeran chatted us through many of the dishes, he is creative and put the most amazing flavours together. We really enjoyed the Indian/ Irish fusion. The ingredients were of top quality. The service was impeccable, from the moment we were greeted right up until the end of our meal. Thank you!

Absolutely delightful experience at Rare. Highly recommend it. We are fortunate to live in Kinsale and to avail of the fruits of this fantastic team. Chef Meeran is masterful in his creations and Pierre is at hand to recommend wines to complement the dishes. Highlights in our meal included the crab, the halibut and the Dexter Beef and the chocolate dessert with chocolate from Mason & Co was incredible. Go see for yourself - you won’t be disappointed

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and cocktail pairing at Rare. From the greeting at the front door through the entire experience and final exit - everything was excellent. The service was professional yet warm and welcoming. The cocktail pairing was spot on with each dish. There were flavors I have never tried before and I enjoyed them all. The dishes were absolutely gorgeous and executed to a level I've not experienced to that point. Flavors that this restaurant focus on can easily be "too heavy" or "overbearing" but not here - perfect balance is achieved. I'd say "well done" but I think your moniker is better suited as it was indeed, a "rare" experience. Loved it.

We had a wonderful evening at Rare which provided us with an exciting seven-course, Indian-inspired menu that was wonderfully different from the usual gourmet place. Everything was presented in a very elegant and calm atmosphere. Very recommendable!
