Rare in Kinsale

My wife and I had an excellent vegetarian meal here tonight, Indian inspired but different from any Indian food I have had before, from locally sourced ingredients. The courses were flavorful and varied, filling but not overwhelming. The paneer in a corgette blossom and the chocolate dessert were highlights. The wine recommended by our sommelier was very good too, and we felt well cared for by the staff.

Michelin star quality, excellent service, unique food. This restaurant is one of a kind, combining Irish produce, Indian flare and French methodology. I've traveled extensively in France and India, and this experience really combines the best of both. The staff were very attentive but not overly formal. The food was exquisitely balanced and not overpowered with spices. The setting was calm and relaxing, with a great view into the kitchen behind glass. A perfect start to a wonderful evening in Kinsale.

Marvelous experience from start to finish

Rare Kinsale is such a special place. We went for my husband’s birthday dinner and it honestly could not have been a more perfect way to celebrate. From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm, welcoming and beautifully considered. The tasting menu is just stunning. Every course is thoughtfully created, full of flavour and presented with such elegance. The idea of bringing a South Indian twist into Irish food is so unique and it is executed so beautifully. Each dish has its own personality and everything tasted absolutely yummylicious. The attention to detail is just incredible.The cocktails and wine pairings are also so well thought out and complement the food perfectly. It is truly worth the money, especially for such a memorable immersive experience. Chef Meeran is doing something really special here, and his leadership clearly reflects in the team and the food they create. There is such care, creativity and consistency in everything that comes out of the kitchen. It is already featured in the top restaurant in Ireland and is in Michelin Guide several times, which says so much, and I genuinely feel it is only a matter of time before a star follows. I cannot wait to go back and experience it all over again. Thanks to all of you ❤️🙏🏾

Rare was a truly phenomenal meal. We went for my mum's 60th and they went above and beyond to make sure she had a brilliant night. The food was truly exquisite- every course was so considered, balanced and perfectly spiced.
