My husband and I had a very good meal at the Red Elephant on Tuesday 29th April. We shared the chicken satay and the tofu salad with spicy and sour dressing starters and followed up with the crispy duck pad prik and the pad thai. Portions were generous. Great cocktails, good food and excellent service.
Thank you to the team.
I ordered Khao Pad, and I know this dish very well as I used to live in Thailand. Unfortunately, it was extremely greasy due to the large amount of oil used — and it seems the oil hadn’t been changed in a while. There was no taste of fresh oil at all. The portions were small, and at this price point, that’s disappointing. My girlfriend ordered the grilled duck, which turned out quite bland. Sadly, I can’t recommend this place. I had hoped for more.
I frequently get lunch here and it is always enjoyable. The lunch deal is 13eur for main course and ice cream. Sometimes I am offered the ice cream, sometimes I am not. The main course is good value and I really enjoy the pork fried rice dish and any of the noodle dishes. The only dish I thought wasn't great was the cashew chicken dish.
The Thai chilly prawns starter and calamari is good.
Had a takeaway last night. Beef green curry was leaking and messy. Beef was so chewy I couldn't eat it. I ordered fried rice but got plain rice. Very disappointed
