Royal Valentia in Knightstown

Stayed for two nights recently. It's and absolutely beautiful hotel. Great staff food excellent. From checking in it was a lovely experience. Great location. Great relaxing atmosphere 👌

Such a lovely historic hotel. Updated with style and maintained Well. Service was exceptional. Food was good. Breda(?) was so welcoming, warm and professional. Helping to put me in touch with individuals who might be aware of some of my Irish’s ancestors from the area. Only able to stay one night. Hope to be back. Not quite luxury but very classic and clean.

Lovely old hotel,staff were excellent, hotel is full of history, had a lovely evening meal and an OK breakfast, bedroom was cold and bed wasn't the most comfortable but was extremely peaceful as we visited in February so not busy with tourists.

A 3 night stay . From the moment we checked in , until we checked out , we were made feel at home. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean with everything you require. Especially bride and Vincent. A big thank you. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast. And Ted and Vincent gave us 2 great tours. Valentia is a hidden gem with so much to offer. We will be back.

Food here is so fresh and tasty. Staff are very friendly and drink selection is vast. Beautiful venue with great views. Conveniently located by road or the Ferry in the summer.

Not only is this a marvelously comfortable, beautiful hotel with a gorgeous restaurant, but it also holds the standard of hospitality to the highest order. I’m a tourist from America who came alone to drive up the coast and caught the flu on my third day. When I arrived here Vincent and the staff took care of everything I could possibly have needed and made sure I felt safe and taken care of, including taking me to see a doctor at the height of my illness. I could not be more grateful and count myself extremely lucky to be at the Royal Valentia.

Can’t comment on the rooms as I’ve never stayed but I’ve often hidden from rough weather by the fire in the bar. Last Sunday I ate there for the first time in ages, more fool me for waiting so long. I ordered roast beef rib, which was both: 1) enormous, i felt like Fred Flinstone with a brontosaurus steak and 2) absolutely delicious! Beautifully soft and unctuous slow-cooked beef with a mountain of mash and roast vegetables and lovely gravy. One of the best meals I’ve ever had, a complete knock-out,
