The Savoy is such a bright spot in Ireland. It is a luxury hotel with a helpful, professional staff. We loved our suite which was beautiful and had a terrific seating area. Several rooms have a view of the Shannon River. The bed was so comfortable. Plus, they have an Executive Lounge that is a wonderful option with a patio. We loved our stay there and will stay there again.
My husband and I stayed in the Savoy the night after our wed didnt as a mini moon, we reached out to the hotel in advance of our plans as it was a special event. While our stay was nice I couldn’t say that it felt like a 5 star experience. We stayed in a suite on the 5th floor and while it was a large room there were a few things that let it down. Our table was stuck together with sellotape, as seen in the picture below, the mirror in the wall was cracked, our mini fridge wasn’t cooling the water inside and once we turned the Tv off at night it wouldn’t work again the next morning. While these are all small things, they do take away from the supposed 5 star experience that is being offered. The suite we stayed in was adjoining another room and we could very clearly hear the people next doors conversation which was disappointing also. We did pay quite a lot for our one night stay and these things did lesson the experience for us i must say. Breakfast was included in our stay and the staff were very accommodating of my food allergy, which was greatly appreciated. Overall I would say our stay was nice but I wouldn’t class it as a 5 star experience, even given that we had paid for the upgrade etc.
