My local, busy pub, decent staff, I marked a star off for the lack of windows, also my kids are coeliac and they weren't very helpful with this unlike other pubs in the area where they would at least be able to fry some chips or something for them.

Scholars Pub in Dublin 24 is a nice spot to stop by for a quick bite and a drink. The quick bites are pretty good and perfect if you just want something simple. And of course, the Guinness is awesome, but then again, Guinness is great everywhere in Dublin! Nice casual atmosphere overall.

Lovely atmosphere, service with a smile! Particularly from Clodagh! The nachos are glorious.

Loved the food. Only negative was the server couldn't tell us ablut certain dishes as they dont get to taste them. Having staff that knows the food is a big selling point. They can sell dishes more if they have first hand knowledge, maybe do a tasting day for all staff and give them some pointers. Our server was great tonight and did her best on limited knowledge of how the dish actually tastes.

Breakfast was tasty (full Irish) My partner wasn't as lucky. Omelett was very plain, and tasteless.

Having recently moved to the area, Scholars is our new local and honestly we're delighted that's the case. Food is really lovely (you would generally expect mediocre food from a pub, but it's not the case here), staff are super friendly and helpful - felt like I'd been a local for years. Only issue we have had is sometimes it's difficult to find a table (although we could have rang ahead so it's our own fault really), simply because it's such a popular pub. Love it and will be back regularly

Castle Vaults

13/05/2026: We enjoyed an exceptional stay at the Castle Hotel. In addition to being an impressive building with attractive and comfortable sitting areas, the staff were absolutely wonderful. We loved the location and walked everywhere. We loved our quiet room and the amazing breakfast, which included fantastic coffee. Thank you to everyone at Castle Hotel!
13/05/2026: We booked two single beds and received a super cozy room with a queen-size bed and a single bed; we slept like royalty. We especially appreciated the additional reading lamps above the bed, which is a rare find. The bathroom was large, modern, and had built-in shelving, so there was plenty of storage space and no need to search for where to put everything. We were able to get a hairdryer immediately when we needed one. Breakfast offered everything you could want, and the Irish tea was particularly delicious. The breakfast rooms, with their several partitioned alcoves, have a charming atmosphere, as do the lounges with their English/Irish furniture. All the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. There's a large luggage storage room where we could leave our bags upon arrival, as check-in isn't until 3 pm. The same applies on the day of departure – check-out is at noon, and the luggage can remain there all day if, like us, you're flying back in the evening. ... The hotel's location is excellent; it's about a 20-minute walk straight ahead across one of the many bridges over the River Liffey, then turn right to reach the Temple Bar district. Everything was perfect, nothing but praise.
