They have the best iced matcha in Cork! It has rich and deep flavor. And salmon sauvage was really nice as well. It was fresh and delicious! The staffs were really kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place for matcha.

My God, 100% praise for this place! The sushi is wonderful and so fresh—it’s absolutely delicious. Not to mention the staff, who are incredibly friendly. At least three times a month, I’m there to get my sushi, my dinner. I highly recommend it; you won’t regret it. The sushi is well-filled, fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply sensational.

Sushi was very dry, one roll was to big to eat in one go, would like to try the pastries, prices were fair

I used to come here routinely to get the same exact delicious order -chai latte with almond milk- and the barista never did as much as acknowledge my persistence. Not even a "welcome back" look in her eye. Amazing service, made me feel less ashamed of my phase. Very welcoming. Food is also great. The sushi is amongst the more affordable options in the city whilst also being great in taste.

The restaurant run by a Filipino and impressed! I ordered the spicy tuna dynamite and it was so flavorful and delicious. The place also sells coffee and bakery items at a reasonable price. Everything was fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed their food and would definitely come back next time!

Excellent sushi, but get in before 1845hrs as they shut at 1920hrs... I had 2 rolls, one salmon/avacdo, one tuna/avacado with 16 pieces in total, served with a huge bowl of edamame I was completely stuffed. Extra wasabi, soya sauce and ginger was no problem. There is only room for 3 stools for sitting inside but I was on my own, and they have additional seating outside weather permitting. Highly recommend this place which is close to the city centre. Fab service and high quality sushi.. The rainbow cake looked interesting but was too full...

The sushi was fresh but a big portion of it was vegetarian carrot, cucumber and rice ! Which was strange for the price

The Bookshelf Coffee House

11/04/2025: Love coffee shop. The staff are friendly and polite, the coffee is good quality. A lovely place to spend the afternoon with friends!
23/03/2025: Basic coffee shop serving the usual mix of coffee, scones, sausage rolls etc. Table service, polite staff. Coffee is good quality. I give this 3/5 because it's relatively expensive and most of all because the seating is uncomfortable, cramped and in need of renovation. A cafe shop should be a place you are comfortable spending time in. I understand furniture needs to be robust especially in Ireland, but a couple of cushions would make a big difference.

The Pie Guys

21/01/2025: Ireland is greatly lacking in places where you can get a decent pie. First time at the Black Market so decided to try these guys. I had the Beef & Beamish pie meal (side of mash with some slaw & salad). The pie was delicious and the mash was smooth and creamy. Service was fast and I liked that the packaging was recyclable. A little pricey for what it is but will definitely go back.
21/10/2024: I was in Cork for a day trip and came across The Pie Guys in the black market totally by accident. Situated in a really cool building with other food vendors I was immediately impressed by the vibe of the market . More importantly in The Pie Guys ,the Cheesy kiwi Pie, mash and slaw was the best pie and mash i have ever had !The presentation and taste were top class. You have to try this place, you won’t be disappointed.I look forward to visiting again on my next visit to Cork : )
