The Imperial Hotel is a classic Irish hotel with plenty of charm. My room was comfortable and fairly spacious, and I especially liked the bathroom interiors; they had a nice touch of elegance (wish I’d remembered to get a video of them!). 🛁
That said, my room was located in the basement, with a view directly into other rooms, which wasn’t the most inviting. At €220 per night (without breakfast), the value felt a little off for what was offered.
The big plus here is the central location, it’s right in the heart of Cork, making it really easy to explore the city. Overall, a decent stay if location is your top priority, though there are a few trade-offs.

In town to visit family and enjoy staying at this facility. Love the history and inclusion of Micheal Collins story. We visited the spa and ate in the restaurant and coffee shop. Food was good. The Iincluded breakfast had a nice variety of buffet items as well as a hot cooked menu. Service was good and the room was excellent. Nice view of the front street. Had the windows open but the local pub noise was too much even on a Monday & Tuesday night. But that’s Cork! 😉

Just wanted to quickly take some time to thank the Imperial Hotel and its staff for an absolutely fantastic, relaxing and enjoyable stay. As a solo traveller, the room was quite spacious and very clean and tidy compared to rooms in other hotels I’ve stayed in and felt super safe the entire stay (I’ve also slept the best at this hotel, the bed and pillows were divine!). The hotel was in the best possible location in the city - close to the train and bus stations and right around the corner from the main streets. Nearly everything was within walking distance which took away the stress of trying to navigate public transport in a foreign city, especially as a solo traveller. Throughout the stay, staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and were always happy to have a chat and share their recommendations. I would 110% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cork and would happily return for another stay in future.

I came here with an Amercian family managing their tour, they were so lucky to experience such a wonderful hotel. It was beautiful and filled with history! The breakfast was cooked to service and the best I've ever received while travelling around managing different groups. The staff were so pleasant also.

The Imperial Hotel still retains it's magic after my first visit thirty five years ago. After a concert in the Marquee we went to the Imperial lounge for a drink. Super service from the bar and floor staff. The atmosphere was super really comfortable seating lovely ambience.
Lovely drinks menu .
It was like stepping back in time where staff made you feel at ease and we're so happy to serve you.
