Shades Grill in Cavan

This was our second time at Shades, the first time about 2-3 years ago, but it was so good last time that we remembered it and returned. We had a warm welcome and staff were friendly and polite. As we’d been eating out for days, we skipped starters and went to mains. My wife had the Thai monkfish and prawns and really enjoyed it – she loved it. I was not overly hungry, but had the burger, which was great. Our 3rd party member had the seafood pasta and although not a crab fan, he enjoyed the rest. My Caribbean fries had the right amount of spice and were great. I’d recommend Shades to anyone, great staff, lovely food and good prices.

What a lovely inviting place for food. It was very busy.we had a table booked and did not have to wait too long until we were seated. We had to wait a while to be served a drink at the bar.food was gorgeous .Will be back.

After dining at Shades, I tried my best to look for an imperfection not to leave a 5 star review, but found none. I ordered the steak and it literally melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Crispy Brie with pecans (as shown in my photo), the first bite & I almost shed a tear. Lovely! And of course, great atmosphere and interior design, warm & cozy. Friendly & attentive staff, and a great service! To sum it all up in one word: Sublime.👌

everything was perfect at this restaurant, I highly recommend it. my mother and my baby on the terrace outside and the staff always made sure to come to us and ask if we needed anything. I will be back soon.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, great atmosphere, tasty food and very friendly staff.

My first time at this restaurant but it won't be my last. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The waitress was brilliant and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. The layout and style of the restaurant is beautiful. We travelled from Dublin as we were celebrating a birthday but I would definitely travel just to go here again as we enjoyed it so much.

A fine spot that hits the spot. A very good variety on the menu and very tasty with good value for your money. Staff friendly and helpful resulting in very positive experience.
