Hanna R. Was a Star! What a great server. I went in for breakfast it was my first experience here at this place, I ordered eggs Royale, it was absolutely delicious such great flavour. It was busy and hopping with lots of people but Hannah never failed to make sure we had service that we needed and were really taking care of. Our Hanna is tall and beautiful with highlights in her hair and a sunny disposition. I have lived in Sligo now for two years I don’t know why it took me so long to get over here and enjoy the food at this cosy diner but it certainly won’t be my last! Highly recommend. Also our Hannah needs a Pay rise! She is solid gold

Have visited many times before and we were delighted to arrive on Saturday evening to find that it wasn’t busy and we got a table no problem. I had the fish and chips which was lovely and my husband had the soup and toasted Brie sandwich which he said was delicious The food was well presented and the staff were excellent. The prices were very reasonable. Thanks to all the hardworking staff.

The Strand Bar

07/12/2024: Disappointed with overall experience. The older staff member who showed us to our seating was unfriendly. The cubicle we were seated at was too small for two separate tables with two separate couples. It meant we couldn’t speak without the other’s overhearing. There were several other free tables. Surely this lady should realise that people couldn’t possibly have a private or comfortable conversation in that cubicle. The serving staff were excellent and really friendly and efficient. The soup which was very tasty but it was lukewarm. We were so hungry that we ate it. The sandwich had very fatty bacon which maybe could have been trimmed off as it said crispy bacon on the menu. These may be small complaints but overall the experience was disappointing.
