Shells Cafe in Strandhill

We came visited Strandhill twice on our vacation in the Sligo area… we also went to Shells twice and enjoyed a terrific lunch each time. Whether it’s a fried calamari salad or another lunch special, you can’t go wrong. This place also has lovely baked goods and excellent coffee. Don’t hesitate, there is a reason why this place is hopping!

Best Macha Latte in Sligo!! Chili Eggs were also amazing. Definitely a must try restaurant in Sligo.

Fantastic place with consistently excellent food. Wonderful to dine outside on a warms s sunny April Monday after enjoying a long walk followed by a seaweed bath. Perfect spot to enjoy al fresco lunch with a view. On ordering- great staff - I was told there’d be a bit of wait but really the wait wasn’t long at all. I had the calamari and chips - absolutely DELICIOUS! A very generous portion as you can see. The chips were fab and the chermoula sauce a nice hint of spice. Thoroughly enjoyed this visit. Don’t miss the shop either beautiful gift ideas and some interesting local produce.

The place was really busy, however we were lucky to find a table immediately and our food arrived quickly. No additional sauces provided on the table. Coffee and brownies were great. The biggest downside was the ridiculous system you have to go through to pay for food, which involved standing in a slow moving queue which started at the door and takes 15 mins to get to the till, where you then have to get a slip to go across to the takeaway part of the shop to pay.

what an amazing place the food was so well seasoned and tasty the staff were so friendly and attentive especially the the server Eva she was so friendly and polite .

An amazing breakfast, I ordered Egg Royal and it was just perfect! Coffee and pastries are also very good. I would definitely visit this place again.

I had coffee at Shells, and it tasted absolutely amazing. Sipping it while watching the waves crash against the shore was an experience in itself. The fresh sea breeze, the sound of the ocean, and the wind gently hitting my face made it all the more special. There’s something about enjoying a good coffee with a view like that—it just hits differently. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by, grabbing a cup, and just soaking in the moment.
