Sli Dala Restaurant in Kinnitty

By pure luck, I found myself at Kinnity Castle Hotel while hiking a loop in the area. I stopped for lunch and couldn’t recommend the seafood chowder more—it’s easily one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. Even bread was so delicious. The interiors are stunning, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Despite showing up in hiking gear with a wooden stick in hand, I was treated with the same warmth as any other guest. Not a single word was said about my attire, which I truly appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this place to all my friends.

The most unique,non corporate hotel . The entrance area is amazing. Rooms are 11/10. Food ,service better than any place I've stayed in years. Ali, she told us she's waitressing,and steps in behind the bar ... Best pint of Guinness I've been served in years...... She's 18 . Promotion straight away lads. Vicki in reception, lads an amazing lady. No bullshit, no fake smiles, chats. Best night away bar none.

I was given a 2 night stay here in early January as a 60th birthday present from my 2 daughters, and we were just amazed by it all..It’s the most enchanting place we have ever stayed in … It is steeped in ancient history and there was literally a surprise around every corner.. The manager Des was extremely helpful at digging our car out when we were leaving! The staff were all young and extremely helpful and very well trained… the food for all meals was excellent too…a definite 10 out of 10 for the whole visit and we really want to go back again!

We had the pleasure of holding our wedding at Kinnitty over the weekend and I can’t thank the staff enough for all that they did, especially Ana, who took away all the stress out of what should have been a very stressful day! No request was too much and she could not have done more to help. Not only were the staff wonderful but the venue is beautiful. They really helped make my fairytale wedding come to life and for that I will be forever grateful. The great hall is a perfect location for a ceremony and a reception and each bedroom was beautifully unique, which our guests all loved. We’re already looking forward to come back to stay again for our anniversary.

Really nice authentic castle, lovely staff, good food and a great breakfast.

For a drink, yes. To sleep there, never again. The facade and the ground floor of the castle are magnificent, the lounges were decorated for Christmas, which gave a warm atmosphere, the restaurant is correct from a quality/price point of view Unfortunately, the standard room is really not up to the asking price and the services that one can expect from a 4* hotel: the furniture is old, without charm and worn, the mattress has outlived its usefulness, the finishes level of painting/embellishments are not great and above all: WE HEAR EVERYTHING. And when I say everything, that's everything: the people running in the hallway at 2:30 a.m. talking loudly, the man who calls until 3 a.m. in the next room etc. So, to summarize, your sleep depends on the level of politeness and good manners of your neighbors 🙃 A word to the wise!

Fabulous old Castle from 13th century,staff excellent, beautiful setting.

Did not stay here ( just had a bite to eat) but I will be back to stay .. Amazing original architecture , in an amazing setting .. you can chill out and relax and take it all in , or go out on one of the walking trails set out in the woods and base of Slieve Bloom mountains ( perfect escape from it all)

My afternoon tea was pure Christmas magic! It felt like stepping into a storybook. The food was fabulous—scones, gingerbread cookies, macarons, and the best millionaire bars I've ever had... simply perfect. My heartfelt thanks to the chef and the entire kitchen team for making the day unforgettable, and to Conor and Desmond for their warmth and hospitality
