Sole Seafood & Grill in Dublin

Went for seafood dinner to celebrate anniversary. Early bird. Scallops OK but accompanying smoked black pudding? Mine was cold. Seabass? Unremarkable as were "purple potatoes". Waitress had accident with dropped tray and injured my husband's leg. He is 74. A bag of ice would have improved the situation.

Paolo was great. Lovely meal. A very small portion of mash and sauce came with steak but they did oblige when I asked for more.

Food here was just amazing. Will come back to try more of the menu but the scallops and monkfish were brilliant. Thank you so much Natalia for your friendly and kind service! Grazie Natalia!

Excellent fresh seafood and wine. The smoked salmon was excellent. The monkfish (supposedly with chorizo) was a bit bland. Still, a lovely dining experience overall.

Food amazing. Service wasn't great. We were seated at the bar which was lovely. Lots of staff but we had to keep trying to get their attention to ask for more drinks/refill water. Would still visit again.

Oyster was not as good as expected. Overall good atmosphere and friendly service.

The restaurant's decor is beautiful. The staff is friendly, they try their best, though sometimes they fall short. 😉 Overall, I feel well-cared for. The food is delicious and decent. Although I admit, I've eaten better for the price. The desserts are very good.

We made a reservation at Sole before we left the USA, based on a recommendation from a tour leader. It was a great choice, both as the restaurant was extremely busy on a Friday night and the food was so good. We got in before 6 pm and were offered the pre fixe menu. A lucky chance. The regular menu has more choices but the prices increase accordingly. The service was perfect, attentive yet giving us time and privacy. We’ll certainly return if we come back to Dublin.

We had been before around three years ago and had really enjoyed the restaurant. It is now very popular and we were given a side table that made us feel that we were sitting in a corridor. The service is still good, but I still don’t like our wine bottle being put into a shared ice bucket away from the table. Food is still as good and service is prompt, but now we got the impression of wanting to turn the table. It was very busy on the Saturday night and as a result very noisy so not as pleasant as when we visited before when it had been quieter.
