Sonflour in Cork

I really dislike the QR code menus, not everyone has a smart phone and it's really not a nice way to start your dining experience staring at a screen trying to read an overly wordy & complicated menu. If the issue is saving paper, small chalkboard menus could be used - it would certainly force them to make the menu more concise & easily readable. As for the food, it is pretty good, but not amazing. (EDIT: that is great that folder menu is now available, this makes it much more likely for me to return - I hope they are replacing the QR code and don't have to be "asked" for)

Incredible food. Such complex and interesting flavours that I've never imagined before. The atmosphere is lovely and quiet with an intimate feel. The service was perfect, such lovely people, and everything is so well priced. We spent €60 on a 3 course meal for 2 people. Where else in cork can you get such good quality food at such a reasonable price? Ps, thank you so much for the birthday compliments

We went out with the intent of a lovely meal and dining experience and we left feeling fairly disappointed unfortunately. The food was very tasty, the starters were the star of the show for us! The pasta was good as well but we mainly felt disappointed with the service and atmosphere. Having to scan a QR code for the menus didn’t feel fitting or in tune with our expectations of a nice Italian restaurant. I don’t think anyone wants sit staring at their phones at the start of their dining experience, it felt very unsocial. We could barely hear the music and there was no atmosphere about the place. The whole evening felt very transactional and I am sad to say we left feeling disappointed as we had been there about two years ago and absolutely loved it!

If you are looking for excellent food & wine this is the place. Everything is exceptional, including the staff.

Sonflour, a wonderful surprise! The restaurant has few tables in order to guarantee a 5-star service and experience! Congratulations to the chefs last night, with their friendliness and their extraordinary cuisine worthy of a Restaurant with a capital R. The gem? Everything vegetarian or vegan! Recommended for any person regardless of diet, so omnivores and carnivores go and try it! Thanks for the nice dinner you gave us :)

My girlfriend and I come here on special occasions, and the night before either of us have to leave the county for exceptional periods of time. It is both bitter sweet and glorious due to this. Sometimes there's even pets allowed in. I love you, Sonflour. Thank you for the venue, but also thank you for the changing of menus, flavours, textures but the consistency of the service. The prior three mean nothing without the latter aspect. We've had an Occasional Dinner in every season this year and didn't have anything close to a complaint in any. By far my/our favourite place to eat in Cork City. Big love ❤️.
