23/05/2026: Simply the best Sunday afternoon dinner in a long time. Delicious beef, lamb, hake and risotto dishes had by our group. Starter of blue cheese mac delish. Friendly service
team. A model restaurant !
18/05/2026: I normally don't write reviews and when I say normally don't, I mean, this truly might be my third ever written review and it is defintely the first time where I sought out the restaurant website on my own volition rather than doing it cause I was asked.
In my entire lifetime I have possibly eaten between 800 to 1000 Sunday Roast Beef dinners and at 3:30 pm on Sunday May the 17th 2026, after 30 years and 322 days alive, I ate the finest one ever.
My unreserved compliments to your Kitchen staff. The mash, the meat, the yorkshire pudding, the jus, all of it overwhemling. I felt like that food critque from the film Rataouille when he took a first bite.
I should point out as well that two other people at my table had the Roast beef and they said the exact same thing. I will tell you as well that before we exlaimed that verdict, all of us paused and I geniunely believe in that pause we were all thinking back through our lives to wonder if we could remember anytime being more awestruck with a Sunday Roast.
Rustic was the agreed upon word.
In regards to your chefs, I truly would love to know how they made it. Like what the steps were and the ingredients for flavour.
Staff were also exceptionally friendly, big shoutout to your bartender, he was a tall lad, I never got his name unfortunately but very frindely and also a shout out to your supervisor that day by the way. You could tell she was very supportive of her staff constantly going between bar and restuarant making sure everything is alright.
I loved the layout of the restaurant. The pictures are simply cool. I was told to expect lots of horse pictures which there were, so expectation met. What I was not expecting to see was pictures of bizzare events like the Mike Tyson 'bite fight' or (and especially) Tom Bradys 'deflategate' in a Cashel restaurant. I thought the 'they have still have their medals' photo was top notch, although I would say as a proud Corkman I am not too sad about what Maradona did to England even though yes we did get that same treatment 23 years later by 'that' Frenchman.
Overall Mikey Ryan's Bar & Kitchen, everything perfection. Just to appear a bit evenhanded if I was to offer one bit of a critque it would be to maybe have 2 Lamb croquettes on the starter instead of one. But I only say that simply because I liked it so much.
Anyone who I speak to from this point onwards and looks for a recommendation for a restaurant, you will be the first named everytime
Thank you so much for having us. I live abroad so I hope I will be able to come back and dine in the near future.
I wish you all contiued success!
