The South Indian buffet had a good variety of dishes, and I really enjoyed the malabar biriyani. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely one of the best places for South Indian food in town. Highly recommend if youโre craving authentic flavors!"
Decided to try Spice India for the first time, had the Kappa Biriyani and it was the most authentic and flavourful food iโve had in a while and it was delicious, 10/10 would recommend to others snd would 100% come here again.
My family had an incredible experience here. We arrived to the city late in the evening to visit the famous Seanโs Bar and hoping to find a meal. We werenโt looking for Indian food but this was one of few restaurants open late enough for us so we gave it a try.
We alerted the staff that 3/4 of our party had never eaten at an Indian restaurant before and we would need guidance. We each described the types of food/spice we like and they suggested menu items that they thought we would enjoy. And we all enjoyed the delicious food! It was a memorable experience.
After a long day walking picturesque Athlone, we didn't wish to dine in, so we ordered take away dinners to enjoy in our hotel room. While we waited in the take away alcove, the staff taking our order were most pleasant and we could see that the restaurant had a comfortable vibe. Locals were coming to dine in or pick up take away and the phone was constantly ringing with orders, further validating that we had made a good choice stopping at Spice India. We immensely enjoyed our Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala and will plan to dine in the next time we visit Athlone.
