Best fish and chips in Ireland by a long shot! Excellent quality, generous portions and very good value for money. Definitely coming back when in lainch!

Deserves higher than the 4.2 it's showing when I write this review. While camping in Doolin, we decided to not cook at the last moment & following a single 6 month old comment on reddit, made Spooney's 10 mins before close, and very very glad we did. I would rate their fish as second only the Kilmore Quay's Saltee Chipper, and not because there was anything wrong with it, it's just that the Saltee Chipper fish travels 100 metres from the fishing harbour and you get twice as much. But Spooneys fish was fab. Fresh, perfectly cooked with a great batter. Their chips however were the best I've ever had. I'm not given to hyperbole. Only the best of anything by defination, should be Five Stars. Spooney's is a five star fish and chip takeaway. It is frankly sensational.

We came right when it opened, which happened to be half hour before google says it opens. The wait wasn't too long and the fish and chips were good.

The worst fish and chips of the trip. Greasy breading and limp chips. Not to be repeated. Don't eat inside if you don't want to smell like fried food.

We were told this was the best fish and chips ever. They were not, but they were good.

Fish&Chips tasted fabulous (Haddock). Also the homemade tartar-sauce. Great place to take away and eat at the beach, there are also some spacious tables to est inside.
