I highly recommend the Gin school and Distilling academy. My wife and I attended and really enjoyed the experience. Our host/lecturer Glen was welcoming, informative and helpful throughout the experience. It was good fun, the cocktail and charcuterie board at the end were a great way to finish off and we came away with two unique and personal bottles of gin (we paid the supplement for the second bottle). If you enjoy a nice gin and fancy inventing your own personal and unique flavour this is definitely for you.

Such an amazing and quaint little spot for afternoon tea. The platters are plentiful and I’m gluten free and the food was DELICIOUS (IYKYK), couldn’t even finish the cakes. The gin tasting and the history behind it was fantastic. Definitely be back to brew my own soon.

I really enjoyed this experience! Hidden in Inchicore, Stillgarden Distillery turned out to be a small but truly inspiring place where creativity meets community. We explored their Laboratory, watched how spirits, cocktails, and aperitifs are made using modern equipment, and ended the tour with a friendly Q&A from one of their experts. The botanical garden was my favourite part — it’s amazing how a piece of wasteland in Dublin 8 was transformed into a beautiful green space through the Social Botanist project. And of course, the complimentary cocktail (with non-alcoholic options too ) was a lovely touch. It’s a great idea to organise such Culture Dates — they allow us to discover unique local stories, meet creative people, and see how modern Dublin is growing through passion and community. Definitely worth visiting!

Halo Restaurant

10/01/2026: Good: The staff is great. The check-in desk were able to check me in early (which was great after a overnight flight) and the breakfast staff had my order memorized by day 2 or 3. Service at the restaurant could have been a bit more attentive, but that's open to the public so I get it. The rooms are CLEAN. I'm pretty OCD about a clean room, and I was very happy to see how clean the room was. During my entire stay, there was only one spot that I could critic could have been cleaner (literally just a small spot by the shower door). The closest was well equipped. Basically all hotels have an iron, but the iron in the room was basically new, there was a robe, slippers, and even an umbrella (which is a nice touch in Ireland lol). Con: This is specific to Diamond members, but the main reason I am loyal to Hilton is because of the benefits of Diamond status and I was very disappointed with what Diamond got me at the Morrison. Not that I was expecting a suite, but all Diamond really got me was a higher floor, but the view out of the window was of a alley or something. Contrast to my stay at another Hilton, they greeted me with a drink of choice and a fresh cookie, plus I got 2 daily drink vouchers to the bar, and a upgrade to the best view they had (not a suite, but a view of the local Castle). In hindsight, I should have just stayed at a cheaper hotel vs hoping I actually get something out of my status. So if you're a diamond member don't expect significant benefit from the Morrison.
06/01/2026: A very nice hotel opposite the popular Temple Bar district, overlooking the Millennium Bridge. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and friendly staff.
