Strand Tavern in Duncannon

A detour from Waterford city traffic took us to Passage East car ferry and I suggested if Strand Tavern is open I would treat himself...he had never eaten there before I had so was hoping he wouldn't be disappointed He wasn't and neither was I. The service and the food is second to none. Big portions of the tastiest fish dishes we have ever had. He had the best chowder he ever had and I had a starter of smoked salmon and the special "Lemon Sole". Never mind paying for quality and hats off to all...a wonderful evening spent in The Strand Tavern.💯👏

We had Sunday lunch here and it was absolutely gorgeous, would highly recommend 😋

Good food and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend but you will need to rebook.

It was very busy during the weekend we were there, had to wait for a table, but service is good, food was good as well, we enjoyed. Nice ficha and seafood option.

Lovely staff, food is absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend the bbq ribs or the chicken salad, amazing restaurant I’ve been going there for a few years now

My hake was delicious, the Guinness was decent but not excellent.

We went to visit hook lighthouse and after went to the strand for food, the waitress went around like she wanted to be anywhere else bar serve people,didn't get her name after a few mins we got menus,my friend asked her to check if kitchen could make his burger with more spice and I had fish and chips.well food looked nice when it arrived bear in mind a different waitress brought it to us the batter was soft near soggy not crisp as it should be and his burger had no spice to it at all,possibly two dishes to avoid if you do visit

We originally entered for drinks but found the atmosphere friendly and comfortable so decided to stay longer and for lunch. Our lunch of various chicken dishes were both delicious and plenty the staff professional, friendly and attentive, a visit to the bathroom found that they were equally above average! in all it is a very professional business and deserves a visit, well done all that work there.

First, great location. We had a group of five and were lucky enough to be seated at a table next to the window. On the clear day that it was, we got a lovely little view of the beach. Second, the service is impeccable. We were regularly checked on and all our requests were met promptly. Third, the main event: the food. Being so close to the ocean, I couldn’t resist ordering the haddock and chips. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Proper pub chips, mixed with fresh fish that wasn’t over fried. Really tasty. All five of us enjoyed our meals which also included an order of ribs and muscles.
