Strand Tavern in Duncannon

We originally entered for drinks but found the atmosphere friendly and comfortable so decided to stay longer and for lunch. Our lunch of various chicken dishes were both delicious and plenty the staff professional, friendly and attentive, a visit to the bathroom found that they were equally above average! in all it is a very professional business and deserves a visit, well done all that work there.

4 of us called in on a super busy day, the staff were fantastic and got us a table, the food was just outstanding, beautiful food and really generous portions. We'll be back for sure

Had a fabulous meal here, luckily got a table as a "walk in" on a glorious Friday evening. Fish and Scampi and tons of chips. People on adjacent table had ribs and they looked superb as well. Duncannon was heaving, but the Strand staff were super efficient and friendly. This place is very very good, and pricewise brilliant value.

A lovely spot right on the beach, with outdoor seating for when the weather permits. Inside, there are several dining areas and a small separate room. Quite elegant. The friendly staff makes you feel at ease and strives to accommodate your needs as best they can. The diners are a little loud, but not overwhelming. As for the food, there's a little bit of everything to choose from. Good value. Highly recommended.

Great place to go to. The portions are quite big, prices are quite reasonable (10-20€/person for a meal), especially for starters and light grabs. Nice atmosphere with great window views!

The food here is fantastic. Smoked salmon was very tasty and locally produced. The fish and chips again were locally caught, crisp batter and a huge portion, there is an option for a larger portion for only an extra €4. Friendly staff and an excellent local IPA, yellow belly, make this an excellent choice for dinner.

Arrived at the (only half full) restaurant having booked well in advance and were shown to probably the worst table in the building. It was a beautiful sunny evening but where we were sitting was so dark and dingy. I’ve attached a photo of the view while I was eating dinner. We asked if we could move but was told the other tables were all booked. The service was efficient but not overly friendly. The food was good but I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as we should so we ate up quickly, paid the bill, and left. The restaurant was still only half full.
