A superb dining room where you can sit near the windows and enjoy a view of the fishing port. The staff was very pleasant and efficient, as is often the case in Ireland.
As for what I ate there, it was simply delicious! Monkfish and shrimp in a sort of gratin, absolutely delicious, for a very, very reasonable price. A truly wonderful place 🤗.

Well done to Robert on his absolutly amazing refurb of the Tara Hotel. The wow factor and some. Roberts' vision and direction, with the support of his dedicated manager Dymphna and all the staff, has come alive like a magical nautical and almost gilded visual magnificence. There is something to ooh and AHH about in every nook and cranny. The attention to detail from the outer facade to the toilet facilities is a sight to behold.
The menu selection plentiful and anyone who has visited their sister pub The Rusty Mackerel 'In-Thru', can expect the same award winning service, and I am sure that The Tara will be as successful during awards season as The Rustys' array of successful endeavours. The locally sourced produce guarantees fresh and flavourful mouthwatering nourishment, and of course the seafood is sensational. I highly recommend the prawn and monkfish gratin. A special mention for the seaweed brown bread and the onion rings, those bad boys are out of this world. The chicken and chorizo pasta is as fine as you'd get in any Italian eatery.
I've been eating in the Tara for many a year now and my most recent visit was like stepping into a brand new world. I can imagine that this place is going to cement Killybegs on the foodies map, in a town with a lot of culinary masterpieces, The Tara literally and figuratively shines through 🌟 Best of luck to Robert, Dymphna and team, wishing you every success ✌️💚🌟

The Tara Hotel is undergoing a full upgrade. The bar is finished and is the focal point for guests and locals, too.
