TF Royal Hotel and Theatre in Castlebar legal

Visiting there for Sofia Ballet, except for the stage lighting, everything was great.

One star gained for a nice auditorium. One star gained for a nice bar. One star gained for accessible toilets. Unfortunately stars lost when we recently went to a ballet show at the TF Royal. One star lost for a serious lack of parking. We had to leave our vehicle outside someone's house, and walk a good stretch to and from the venue. Another star lost for unreserved seating of a packed show. This resulted in a mad scramble for somewhere to sit and claim. Unfortunately, we sat behind 2 women who wouldn't stop talking loudly all the way through from beginning to end. They also obstructed people's view by their continuous aggressive recording. One man sitting behind them was furious. I honestly thought there was going to be a fight. I would have complained to a staff member, but I was afraid I'd lose my unreserved seat, so I had no choice but to suffer a ruined night along with other people, who also sat behind the entitled disruptive women.

The place exceeded expectations. The staff was polite and cozy. We were especially pleased with the good, spacious restaurant with excellent cuisine. We needed to visit the hospital, and here we found a relaxing place to unwind after our hospital experience. Conveniently located right across from the hospital. Parking is a problem, even for those with disabilities. We're sure that if we find ourselves in this town again, we'll return here. Especially the restaurant. It looked attractive and more interesting than other recommended establishments in the town.

Stayed here for the first time on Thursday and it truly exceeded our expectations. There was a small issue with our room, which was dealt with quickly and without any fuss. The previous week we stayed elsewhere in Castlebar that we didn’t enjoy at all — and it cost twice as much as TF. The staff here were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. I honestly can’t fault this hotel and will absolutely stay here every time I visit Castlebar.

I had spent the whole day in hospital with my mother and checked in late. The staff were so wonderful and kind and sent complimentary coffee and cheesecake to my room. It was so nice after a long day to be spoiled that way. And the room was cheaper than all the Airbnb’s that I looked at. Definitely staying there again. You never forget exceptional customer service

This hotel truly offers a warm and welcoming experience. The modern theatre provides comfortable seating and excellent facilities, making it a pleasant place to enjoy your time. The restaurant offers delicious, freshly prepared dishes with prompt service, so you won’t have to wait long. The food is consistently flavorful, and the generous portions are reasonably priced, providing excellent value. Overall, it’s a place that genuinely cares for its guests and their comfort. Highly recommended.

We’ve visited this hotel venue several times over the past couple of years for gigs and performances, and today’s experience was absolutely brilliant with the Wizard of Oz pantomime. We arrived early and enjoyed tea and cookies in the café, then sat in the covered outdoor area, which was lovely. The staff were attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived. As the show was unreserved seating, we made sure to arrive in good time and had no problem getting seats together as a family of five. The ushers and security staff did a fantastic job directing people, with members of the management team clearly on site throughout, helping to coordinate everything and ensure the event ran smoothly. Queues for the shops and toilets were very well managed, which made the whole experience feel calm and well organised. The show itself was amazing, and it was great to support a locally produced pantomime. The tickets were excellent value for money for a 3–4 hour family day out. Overall, this is a great venue for local families, couples, groups, and solo visitors alike. We’ll definitely be back again.
