17/09/2026: Fanatic food and service. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

12/09/2026: Really enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and the wraps were packed with flavour. The twisty fries with the kids' meal were a hit. The staff was very kind and gave our kids a handful of candies. Highly recommend!

11/10/2026: Went with some friends for the first time. Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and great menu. From start to finish the food was amazing. They offer 2 courses for 55 euro and 3 courses for 65 euro. Never felt rushed to order or leave. Recommend making a reservation you wont regret it.

28/09/2026: Having recently moved to the area, we chose Bar One for Saturday evening meal out for two. We were not disappointed. We generally like to eat a little later and the place was hopping when we got there. A well selected menu and a large list of specials gave us much to contemplate. The winelist was well chosen and pricing was not crazy. When you can select a good wine without a ridiculous mark up, you are happy to pay for it. I was tempted by one special, the Hampshire Bacon chop. I figured if there is a good chef here, it will be more than just bacon and cabbage. It was! Cabbage cooked quickly is wonderful and the oven finish on the chop was meltingly delicious, with a cider sauce on the side. My wife had the tempura hake and was equally impressed. We somehow also squeezed in dessert and a digestif but were well satisfied. Staff were always attentive and never overbearing. Service was well paced for a nice night out. We noticed that as people left and food service finished, the bar/bistro was a little quieter, they should advertise it better as a bar after meals since the atmosphere and drinks selection would tempt me even when not out for a meal. 10/10 - very happy and we will be back regularly!

13/08/2026: Brilliant spot with wonderful staff they did not take card the night I was there but the bank machine was a 2 minute walk away. It was absolutely packed the night I was there on the mayo all Ireland win. But despite the pressure and sheer number of people demanding their attention for a drink all the staff were so polite and efficient.

20/06/2026: Really enjoyed my pizza from Dominos! The pizza was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Definitely a reliable place when you’re craving good pizza. They were very polite, attentive, and ensured my order was handled perfectly. It’s always nice to see such excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

25/09/2026: Went back to the Dining Room last night for the 4th time. We visit Westport annually from the U.S. and the Dining Room in Castlebar is always a must stop. By far the best dining experience we experience each year. Fantastic food, small but excellent wine list, and well worth the 20 minute drive from Westport. Already planning our return in May.

14/07/2026: What a wonderful evening! My friend from Westport invited me here, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was outstanding from start to finish. I chose the special of the day – halibut with a lobster bisque – and it was absolutely delicious. I especially loved that they even brought me an extra jug of the bisque, which was such a lovely touch. The starter was equally delicious: perfectly cooked scampi served on a fresh salad. The restaurant itself is quite small, which gives it a warm, intimate atmosphere. I felt very comfortable throughout the evening, and the service was friendly and attentive. If I’m back in Castlebar, I will definitely come here again. Highly recommended!

21/09/2026: I have too say 1 off the best places Ive eaten in a long long time. I got a recomendation too eat here so I did. 1st time and no regrets. I had the Chicken Korma for mains and lemon merange pie for desert washed down with an Americano. All for 'and this is the best part 20 Euro'. It has been a long long time since I eat such good quality food at affordable prices, and Portion size good. Its such a breath off fresh air too be able too get value for money. The desert coming in at eur4.95 instead off the usual 8.99 this is what I call value for money. Ample parking friendly staff and clean environment. I will be back. John Paul

22/09/2026: I ordered over the phone and chose the time we would pick up, the phone was answered quickly and very professionally, when I arrived at the time I paid and my 2 Fish and one portion of chips was ready, the service and staff are excellent, the food was delicious cooked to perfection they deserved to win their accolade earlier in the year well done Thank you.

12/04/2026: Lady Fire Slice is very accommodating, very personable, makes fantastic and delicious pizzas. You cannot lose by ordering here. So to get this out of the way... Lady Fire Slice doesn't do pineapple. Love or hate it, and wifey does. But she is so accommodating, and because wifey brought pineapple chunks along was quite happy to add the toppings to her pizza. Wifey had the Ham, mushroom and cheese with extra pineapple. And although it's not everyone's tea, hubby has to admit it works rather well with ham and cheese pizza. Hubby went with the classic pepperoni pizza. And really liked the flavours, really tasty. This pace does some great pizzas, you'll get no complaints there. There are some minor inconveniences... Which boil down to its a pizza truck and the limits there. Which means eating it hot and order ahead of time is the only way to do it. We live 25 minutes away, and food doesn't last, it wasn't the same when we got home. No fault on Fire Slice, but is something to think about. Because the truck was behind the Bridge st bar, there just wasn't any good place to sit and eat. So home needs to be close by. Secondly you need to order in advance as a artisanal pizza needs time. We recommend turning up to collect, to ensure it's hot and fresh. Also it is worth noting that keeping a pizza hot is just as difficult, so being punctual is a must too. All in all, you'd be missing a treat it you didn't try pizzas here. And if you must with pineapple you need to bring your own. On a personal note, deep pan pizzas are the best. I miss those, but everyone loves stone baked thin crusts, and I understand why... But hope deeppans come back.

27/07/2026: The Irish House is a brilliant pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Alan and his team are always wonderfully friendly, the service is excellent, and they make us feel right at home every time we visit. The craic and banter are second to none—exactly what you would hope for from a proper Irish pub. We go there regularly and always have a great time, so we will certainly keep coming back. Fair play to Alan and the whole team!

22/08/2026: I ordered a classic margarita which is a drink that i find many irish bars struggle to get right but I have to say it was absolutely outstanding! One of the best I've ever had. The only thing i would recommend is a bit more salt on the rim and for them to use flakey salt other than that i have no complaints. The service was fast and the servers were so kind. Overall it was an amazing vibe and will be coming again.

10/08/2026: Bridge st bar is set on Bridge St in Castlebar it has a good atmosphere in it, and they do Salsa Dance lessons upstairs, the staff are very friendly and helpful too
