18/09/2025: What a gem of a place, we’d been to the Deli the day before and bought some granola and flour, and had a take out coffee, so we were really looking forward to a late breakfast at Café Rua.
First impressions were a fantastic welcome and real friendly people, nothing sham or pretend here.
What a great menu, absolutely something for all tastes and dietary requirements.
The chorizo, spinach and sautéed potatoes, topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs and accompanied with chilli relish was excellent.
Real fresh orange juice was delightful, and the coffee? Epic!
What a fabulous way to spend time being looked after in one of the best cafés I’ve visited.

There’s truly no place like The Bridge Street Bar in Castlebar. It brings something fresh and modern to the town from its stylish interior and vibrant atmosphere to the consistently high standard of service and presentation.
The staff is always on point, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The drinks are excellent, and there’s always a great buzz whether you’re there for a casual evening or a big night out. Its central location makes it the perfect meeting spot, and it’s quickly become one of the go-to venues in the area.
A brilliant addition to Castlebar’s social scene; highly recommend it!

09/08/2025: Popped into Cox's Restaurant and bar for something to eat and got Roast of the day chicken mash potato with vegetables and gravy. Also a nice cold beer. Service was very good and pleasant. Food was plentiful and delicious filled the spot of my ravious appetite. The nice cold beer was like honey to a bear refreshing and tantalising. Definitely would recommend this place to locals and visitors as my friend and I would be visitors. Compliments to the chef and the staff who served us. Thanks for a wonderful meal and refreshing beer.

20/06/2025: Authentic old Irish pub. Places like this are disappearing fast, mores the pity. Lovely pint of Guinness and friendly barmaid. Would loved to have stayed longer but I will be back soon.

08/10/2025: This one star is for the delivery service. The pizza arrived an hour and a half later and was already cold. This is because the delivery person went to the wrong address than the one specified in the order. The manager didn't even try to resolve the issue. Unprofessional, a huge minus.

I was order pizza take away but when I was see pizza it’s not look like Italian at all! Pizza di Parma

16/10/2025: Ordered a bacon and cheese toasty, just got cheese. Ordered a double sausage mcmuffin, got a double bacon i stead, at least they got the hashbrown right.
