30/06/2026: I love how McDonald's hires a diverse range of folks, in all different age ranges. You can really feel the difference in it being a well rounded team. There's parking out front and back, and it's not far from the main street. Inside is kept cleans, staff are helpful, and interact kindly with both customers and their co-workers. Never any complaints with the food or timings. Drive through seems to move at a decent pace, from what I can tell. It's immediately adjacent to a petrol station and shop, which is handy.

10/06/2026: The first time I ordered it, for some reason I didn't like it, the chicken was bland, and there was some kind of jelly in it, I don't know, maybe it's necessary, but I was expecting a slightly brighter taste.

06/05/2026: Had a great meal at Tucos with Tucos Tinga Enchilada. The enchilada was really flavorful, and pairing it with a Mexican Coke made the whole experience even better. Karina was especially attentive and gave excellent recommendations that helped me try a combination I probably wouldn’t have picked on my own, and it worked perfectly. 🙏🏻 Friendly service, great food, and a really enjoyable experience overall.

30/06/2026: As a local, I've been here a few times over the last couple of years and I've definitely noticed the place going downhill. I was in today and ordered the French onion soup, but it came out absolutely packed with onions, hardly any broth, and no cheese or croutons. I even asked if it was the French onion soup and was told it was. They also forgot part of my order, and my iced coffee was ridiculously sweet. The biggest let-down was the service. The food, drinks and cutlery were basically thrown down on the table, which felt really rude. It's a shame because I'd like to support local businesses, but after a few disappointing visits, I don't think I'll be back unless things improve.

05/05/2026: Called here, for the Trad session and was very impressed, so nice to see all the young .musicians practicing for the up and coming Flagh, good luck Castlebar, the main musicians were great, and the dancers, what a memorable evening, we will go back.👍

The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and full of genuine Mayo character, the kind of place where locals chat easily with visitors and the craic flows naturally. The Guinness is exceptional, easily among the best you’ll find anywhere, poured with real care and consistency. Add in the friendly service, the family-run feel, and the traditional music nights, and you’ve got a pub that captures the true spirit of the west of Ireland. If you’re visiting Castlebar and want a proper pint in a proper pub, this is an absolute must stop!

22/04/2026: In 2012, my brother lost his life after being in a physical altercation with the security from Cox's, 2 of them asked him to leave which he did, peacefully as seen on CCTV, he tried to walk away 3 times,but you can see the security saying things to him while he was walking away, as the coroner said at the inquest, unfortunately we can't hear what they're saying, unfortunately on the third time my brother came back and that's when the "physical struggle " happened , resulting in the loss of my brothers life. I could go into more detail but I'd be here for a week. By the way, Cox's didn't have a late licence to operate that night either, unbelievable. I hope this message finds the right people, and I will never forget what happened that night and I hope it lives long in the memories of the owners and the security. ( which I doubt.) RIP paraic. ❤️

17/02/2026: I just love Cox's beautiful steak, chips and garlic mayo. Everything is fantastic. Alright service. Good atmosphere
