Bar One in Castlebar legal

I had wings in BarOne 8 years ago when passing through, I've been meaning to get back since, today I made it back and it didn't disappoint. I will definitely make it my business to get back soon for a full meal. 5* food, service & atmosphere

Having recently moved to the area, we chose Bar One for Saturday evening meal out for two. We were not disappointed. We generally like to eat a little later and the place was hopping when we got there. A well selected menu and a large list of specials gave us much to contemplate. The winelist was well chosen and pricing was not crazy. When you can select a good wine without a ridiculous mark up, you are happy to pay for it. I was tempted by one special, the Hampshire Bacon chop. I figured if there is a good chef here, it will be more than just bacon and cabbage. It was! Cabbage cooked quickly is wonderful and the oven finish on the chop was meltingly delicious, with a cider sauce on the side. My wife had the tempura hake and was equally impressed. We somehow also squeezed in dessert and a digestif but were well satisfied. Staff were always attentive and never overbearing. Service was well paced for a nice night out. We noticed that as people left and food service finished, the bar/bistro was a little quieter, they should advertise it better as a bar after meals since the atmosphere and drinks selection would tempt me even when not out for a meal. 10/10 - very happy and we will be back regularly!

For over 20 years Bar One has produced great food, great menus, great customer service and atmosphere. Consistently excellent. If you have never tried, don’t think twice just book!👏🏻👏🏻

One of the best places in Castlebar. Staff are excellent and very helpful, but the food is even better. Will be back

Lovely place. Food was tasty, good ambience, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Hussein in particular is a great asset to the team in bar one.

Absolutely beautiful meal, everything was perfectly done and presented very well. The service was impeccable. It was lovely to see such a well-coordinated team, all committed to delivering excellent hospitality. Highly recommend!

We ordered today the prawn salad and one of the daily’s specials. It was delicious. The service was great (Raphael the head of the waitress recommended us those two dishes). Really great, obliging and friendly service! We can definitely recommend it!! The surrounding was nice and not too loud. Great work gluten-free options (at least 70% of the menu) as well.
