The Anchor Bar in Cahirciveen

I had a wonderful experience at The Anchor today. Food was great value, big portions and the staff and customers were friendly. Dog friendly, I thoroughly enjoyed my salt and pepper squid, it was very tender and chips and salad were delicious too. I highly recommend for a traditional pub setting

Looks like a small bar from the outside but extends out the back. The food was fantastic and the staff friendly and chatty.

I had 1 Guinness, poured in an exemplary manner, creamy, excellent!

We had the pleasure of visiting the Anchor on our last night in Cahersiveen. A warm welcome awaits you. We had fish pie & it was one of the best fish pies I’ve ever had! Made with love. Shame it was our last night. Couldn’t recommend it more. Well worth a visit

A rustic bar with great food & friendly staff. Don’t pass it! Public car park at the rear.

Just popped in to have a local beer and soup. Love the atmosphere and the people so friendly.

Surprisingly the fish tacos were fantastic. It’s hard to find bad fish in Ireland so I didn’t judge it by the fish. The jalapeño mayo and fresh salsa really paired well and were the real winner. The seafood Chowder and Buttermilk Chicken burger were great as well. Well done Anchor!

Vacationing in Ireland from TX for a week. Came across this place while making a pit stop. I’m glad I did. Best seafood chowder that I could find anywhere in Ireland (and N Ireland for that matter), and I tried at least a dozen different places throughout. Didn’t get his name, but the ma with glasses in some of the photos was super friendly and helpful on helping us navigate some additional places to see in Ireland. It’s a very unassuming place, but a must-stop if you’re anywhere in the general area. There’s parking behind the building and a short walk through a couple breezeways, or as they called them, “laneways”, gets you into the back door of the pub (wheelchair accessible).
