The Anglers Bar & Restaurant in Cork

Good spot especially on a summers day. Nice outdoor seated area and marquee. Plenty of green space for kids to run around in a safe way. Need to book in advance as it is busy.

Brilliant midweek late lunch and dog-friendly!

Booked table for our wedding anniversary and our daughter's 16th birthday. Our table was originally for upstairs but one of us wasn't able to go upstairs so we sat outside. There was a wedding (lily and Alex) being catered for as well as a 20th work anniversary. Food was lovely, staff was friendly

We got off the plane and, thanks to a friend who picked us up, we stopped here on the way home. It's a really nice restaurant, typical Irish fare. The dishes are plentiful and very tasty; the chicken legs are highly recommended (be careful with the spicy stuff, because it's really spicy 😉). Excellent beer, very friendly staff. I'd say it was a great start! Recommended!

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch Roast beef was excellent tender and I was offered medium or well done. Children’s pizza was enjoyed. Chicken wings and chips were also very tasty. Rioja red wine was a lovely accompaniment. Beautiful setting also for children to run around safely while you eat outside under cover. Highly recommend if in the area.

Beautiful place to have a drink

I went to eat at this restaurant because it was one of the very few where the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, and I'm lucky I found this restaurant because we had a really good meal. My wife had fish and chips and I had sirloin steak, both truly excellent. The restaurant is very nice inside, modern yet very quaint. The service was quick and very friendly. We spent about €25 each. Ample free parking outside.

Unbelievable food and great value

Nice cosy spot Mussels starter were good. Salmon and haddock good also. Service was ok. However €9.50 for a glass of wine bit greedy we felt.

I would say just okay. We visited as a family yesterday. Me, my boyfriend and his mother and grandfather. I suggested the Anglers actually as I was there not too long ago for a work party and the food was great. There’s a lovely atmosphere here, especially on a sunny day and the staff are really nice. But ultimately you are paying for the food. Sadly, the food isn’t great. In today’s day and age I know we are all trying to cut corners but you are paying a lot of money to eat out so you expect to get good quality for what you are paying. We had the fish and chips. Presentation was great but the fish tasted of nothing. Peas were frozen garden peas with a bit of mint and pepper on them. The chips were just chips. I had to ask for a potion of gravy and pour over the chips to get a taste of something. My boyfriend however had the pork belly and he said it was nice. Nothing to rave home about but better than the fish. So look maybe we ordered the wrong thing. But just for the price you’d expect a lot better.
