Lovely atmosphere very nice bar men, lovely pint of guinness, lovely pints of carlsberg very nice malibu and diet coke and 7up. Only place to watch the United match in Keel lovely outdoor seating aswell and dogs could be outside too. Great to see some sheep running past us.

Greta atmosphere inside the pub and outside. Even though it was very busy there was little to no wait at the bar for our drinks. There is a pizza truck outside which opens until pretty late and has lovely variety of options (as a bonus, the garlic mayo was free!). Will be back next time we are in Keel!

Pints are lovely here. Guinness was one of the best on the Island and I've drank in every spot on Achill. Good craic on the wknd with a pool table (€2 per game), big screen for matches, well stocked bar with very good service, always a good crowd and you can't beat it when there is live music.

The Islander Takeaway

20/10/2024: Standard chipper. Being the only chipper around for miles they have potential to be so much better. Right beside the camp site so easy access from there and the beach. Super busy, but that’s because it’s the only takeaway place around.
14/09/2024: We were on holiday for a week on Achill and went on a search for the best food on the island. Once we tried The Islander, everyone in the family just wanted to go back again and again. And you can! The menu has so much variety, we could have spent a month there trying new things. One of our favourites was Alex's Argentine Beef Burger - Alex, you're a genius. So, the food's great, it's great value for money and service is fast and friendly. If the owners ever fancy expanding the business towards Ulster, you’ve already got eager customers waiting in Monaghan!!

Achill Cliff House Hotel & Restaurant

17/08/2025: Nice place to stay but dinner was overpriced and very bland. Good appetizer but salmon and lamb were the overcooked. Potatoes and veg boring. Dessert was ok. Disappointing and expensive.
20/07/2025: My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. Our experience from check in to check out was amazing. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their hotel and restaurant. We highly suggest staying for a few days to a longer visit based on their service, high standards, and central location.
