The Black Cat, Glengarriff in

23/11/2024: Went with friends for coffee a couple of wks ago and meant to write a quick review here just to say it was very enjoyable with great service from the very competent Mairead. She’s friendly and great at her job. Went for a bite to eat this evening with two friends and the experience was very good again. The hotel was warm, with beautiful Christmas decorations up and the food was lovely and not over priced. All the staff were lovely.

17/11/2024: Give 4 pieces of garlic bread! I know this is such a small thing, but why do restaurants only give three pieces of garlic bread?? The majority of diners come in groups of 2 or 4, so it should be standard to give four pieces. Anyways, rant over. The restaurant / bar is obviously in a beautiful setting, it has a great vibe and very attentive staff, some would say too attentive. Multiple times, as my wife and I were mid chicken wing licking, we were asked by a waiter “everything okay?”, however we just laughed it off. The food was good, a bit overpriced, but you understand why when you look at the venue and the service. I would recommend the hot sauce wings and the Per-Peri Chicken Burger.
