We were greeted with smiles and our waiter, Julio (from Brazil) was pleasant and friendly. Our food was delicious and the presentation of the food was photo worthy. We were happy with our meal and the restaurant staff.

Great place for a group to meet and have a few drinks with finger food trays esp when you can reserve tables upstairs for bigger groups.

Came from London and the friendliness of the Irish always blows me away. Warm welcome at the bar. Excellent Guinness, superb Espresso Martini and a delicious pork belly dish. Super good prices too. Highly recommend.

Great service! They have a few vegan options. The corn ribs are yummy! Best priced pints on the road and they take American Express! Aaron and Louis were the best bartenders in Ireland!

Delicious food, good selection. Nice atmosphere outside, nice inside, but the smell of food is strong. The service was friendly, but we had to wait a very long time for someone to come take our order or bring the bill.

I ahvevbeen there twice now: once just for a drink and once for dinner. On the first night, I loved that the pints looked proper, served in personalized glasses. In both occasions the service was attentive and fast. The atmosphere was quite lively even on a Tuesday evening with a mix of tourists & locals. The food looked nice on the first night, not so convincing on the second which is unfortunately when we decided to order some. My burger was extremely disappointing. I ordered one with pulled pork, crispy onion and grilled pineapple. I was expecting an explosion of flavors and sweet&sour contrasts but sadly the meat of my burger was tasteless, inappropriately tough to chew and overly hot spicy. Both pineapples and onions were tasteless.

Mullingar House

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.
21/03/2026: The incredible historical depth and the remarkably cozy atmosphere of this premier traditional pub in the heart of Chapelizod make it an absolutely spectacular destination for anyone who values authentic Irish hospitality and literary heritage in Dublin. I spent a long time enjoying a perfectly poured pint and exploring the classic wooden interior because the general energy of the building is very inviting and every single corner offers a level of vintage charm that is remarkably consistent with the high standards of historic Dublin establishments. I really loved the professional kindness of the local bartenders and the thoughtful preservation of the Joyce related memorabilia because the balance of the old world tradition and the friendly community vibe is truly impressive and it provides a satisfying and rewarding experience for every visitor. The facility is maintained with a great sense of local pride and I noticed that the environment remains respectful and warm for families looking for a relaxing meal after a long walk through the nearby Phoenix Park grounds. It is a must visit for any resident or traveler who appreciates a well managed independent pub where the quality of the service is a main priority and the surrounding views of the Liffey river add a layer of natural beauty to the entire visit. I also appreciated the clean organization of the seating areas and the general sense of warmth within the lounge because it encourages a relaxed and mindful appreciation of the local pub culture while soaking in the vibrant charm of the Dublin landscape. Even though it is a popular spot for weekend regulars the organization of the service is executed with such care that you always feel like a valued guest during your stay. I will definitely be returning here soon for another evening because the combination of the prime location and the unbeatable historical profile is truly a highlight of the local neighborhood scene.
