Great food and reasonably priced rooms. Staff very friendly.

Stylish and old hotel inspired by the classics. The common areas were interesting and gave the feeling of something unique. However, as others have also written, the hotel could have benefited from a proper deep cleaning of the floors, walls, ceilings, carpets, moldings, etc. The room we had was cramped and smelled like an old gym locker room. The rooms were noisy and there were a lot of cobwebs. It felt a bit like being on a boat, as the floor was also moving and crooked. The sink was clogged upon arrival, and one of the towels was stained, and even though they said they would fix it, it was not done. Nevertheless, we had a good night, and let ourselves be charmed by the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was also nice. Be aware that there are several stairs (more than you think).

The room is large, although accessibility isn't the best. The hallways are somewhat narrow and have small stairs halfway through. If you have trouble sleeping, I don't recommend this hotel. You can hear people walking in the hallway, you can hear doors closing... Beyond that, everything was clean and the service was friendly. The breakfast wasn't great.

It is an enjoyable town, with a beautiful castle looking over the local river—my first impression of Kilkenny. Our hotel is built near a main road. I love the instructions we get beforehand about the available parking space—a big plus. Then, we enter a very Victorian building through the back door. I usually love history and old grandeur, but my experience has taught me to be cautious of this kind of hotel. The squeaking floor usually means they can't clean them, and old grandeur means bathrooms without good facilities. However, in this hotel, the disadvantage is that you have to walk upstairs with your luggage. Our room is located in a newer building, which you reach after taking multiple steps, passing by Victorian signs and art, and walking on a squeaky floor. The room itself is relatively small but stunning and very comfortable. We love it! The bed is comfy, the bathroom practical and clean—everything we need. I always love love love the ability to charge with a USB connection. Very thoughtful when provided. It is greatly appreciated when used as a tourist attraction. Combined with the history of the old building in front (which serves drinks and breakfast as a bar), I would recommend this hotel.

The Clubhouse Hotel have refurbished beautiful new rooms which are outstanding . Food is fab , and whether you are visiting for a coffee or a stay it’s a fab hotel to visit . Location is great . I cannot recommend this place enough! I stayed there for 2 days and it was delightful. The old, grand interior makes you feel as if you stepped back in time, into a very fancy hotel. The staff is attentive and friendly, the location could not be more central. I reached all the sights within 15 minutes of walking. Will definitely go back

It’s located in the centre of Kilkenny town, which is so convenient for travellers. Breakfast was excellent!!! Cooked breakfast and all was flavoursome. Lack on sweets, but fine for me. Although it wasn’t cheap, during May bank holiday period, the room was dingy and not clean…..status of our bathroom was shocking and bed linen was dusty. Internet connection was bad and floor was uneven. There was no pressure in the shower. Disappointing…

We had an amazing experience here staff here was fantastic. Special shootout to the night clerk Gary who went above and beyond to assist myself and my wife during our stay.
