The Club House Hotel in Kilkenny

The Club House was the perfect location for our short and sweet visit to Kilkenny in May 2026. We were in town for 2 nights, and the hotel is right in the center of the city, just 2 minutes walk from Kilkenny Castle and the start of the Medieval Mile. The huge onsite parking lot was very handy (and secure). Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. It was so worth it to include breakfast in the mornings as well, as the food served was plentiful and satisfying. We loved the Club House's character, on top of being clean and and elegant, all the decorations and design elements makes it feel like you've stepped into a moment in history in the best way. Staff were all so helpful and kind, and shout outs to the Bar staff on our arrival evening (the first night of our Ireland vacation), who gave us a warm welcome. One thing to be aware of is that there is no elevator, so I likely would not come back with family members who have mobility concerns if there was no availability on the first floor (from what we saw, this would be a very comfortable and safe option as all ground floor rooms face the hotel's secure parking lot, which was quiet for the duration of our stay).

The oldest hotel in the village still in operation. We had a small double; well, small is what it was, but it was only for one night. The hotel has a lot of character, excellent service, and a great breakfast. Ample free parking and located in the center.

Beautiful hotel, near shops and restaurants

I'm sharing this for the food only, and it's delicious with great service and an amazing atmosphere.

We were a group of five people, split between two rooms in the newer part of the hotel. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and well-equipped. There was ample free parking. All the staff were very friendly, attentive, and competent. The breakfast was delicious, and we would gladly return. In short: lovely :)

Had family meal on easter Sunday and we can't thank the staff enough. They were all so nice and pleasant, very helpful. So nice to all the kids aswell. Will b back. There was so much choice on the menu for both adults and kids

Stayed here on a work trip recently. Lovely hotel. Comfortable and clean rooms that were very spacious and had everything you’d need. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious and well lit. Nice aesthetic to the whole place and very well located in the heart of Kilkenny. Staff were friendly and the food at both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Would happily stay here again if I was in Kilkenny. The only gripe we had was finding the hotel car park entrance. (It happened to be on the street directly behind but we had passed it multiple times before finally finding it.)

Super quaint and homey hotel that made me feel like it was 20 years ago, but in a good way. Perfect location only minutes away from all the main things to do. The bar was very slow service and the bartender seemed super stressed out. We just ended up leaving as we sat at the hotel bar for nearly 10 minutes without her coming back to take our drink order after I asked for a cocktails menu.
