The Dog House Blues Tea Room in Dublin

My first time being in the Dog House! Great atmosphere, great food, and the service was top notch.

This is by far my favourite coffee spot EVER! When I did my Erasmus in 2014, I was here every day after classes to study, to read, to spend time with friends. Here, I discovered White Mulberry Tea and fell in love with it (now living in Germany, I found a supplier that delivers this tea here so every time I drink it, it reminds me of The Doghouse). Here, we spent nights watching films, eating great food (especially the scones) and it’s where I met Brendan Gleeson and had a fantastic exchange with him while he was doing a play with his sons in Dublin. I have created so many awesome memories here and I would say it is one of the places that have shaped me. Thank you to the fantastic staff that was always friendly and already knew what I would order before I said anything. This place has my heart.

I was going on the bog of frogs hike, and stopped in here to use the toilets before hand as it’s just beside the dart, I fell in love with it straight away and was definitely stopping back in when I finished the hike. The atmosphere is so lovely a chilled, the decor being all second hand or gifted to them gives such a unique vibe to the place along with the jazz music playing in the background, I love that you can bring dogs along also! I had a pizza and chips which was delicious and fresh, along with a strawberry spritz which was gorgeous and a couple glasses of wine🩷 Staff were great and friendly! I would definitely come back just for here even though it is an hour and a half journey from where I live!

The place is very special, different spaces with big sofas and armchairs where you can sit comfortably. You are allowed to bring your dog which makes it a very good option if you are going for a walk in Howth with your pet, although we didn't have a dog and we liked it very much. The staff are very friendly. We had already eaten and went for coffees and desserts. We saw that they had a food menu with good prices and looked very good. The Irish coffee was delicious, the best I've had lately. I plan to go back.

All I can say is wow, the food was unreal great service from amazing staff and such a cool atmosphere and vibe! Definitely a different experience compared to your usual run of the mill restaurant, will be back!
