Quaint little place. Quite and food was home cooking. It was all delicious.

Food portions bit small and food could be hotter

Absolutely lovely. We stopped by on the way home from a long day in Laois and were looking for something that we could just chill and settle and eat something good and we found this spot right on the border of Tipperary and Portumna. Sits right by the river Shannon, small bit tucked away and has plenty of parking. Exterior is lovely, cozy and inviting, nice small building. Wait to be seated but the wait was literally 5 seconds and though it is nice and small and cozy inside there was plenty of seating. Some other people eating as expected but there was no disturbance or feeling of crowding. Very nice and varied menu, and plenty of specials to choose from - the roast beef looked absolutely lovely though we each chose the steak burger which was visually very appealing also, and tasted so good. Choice of cheese on the steak burger - definitely choose the parmesan it was lovely. The chips were perfect too, nice thin crispy and perfectly salted. The staff were very nice and made us feel welcome. And the bathrooms were spotless clean which is a big plus. Also - awesome music playing in the background, 80s rock over the radio, but nice and quiet. Poster saying live music every Tuesday. Inside was nice and cozy, nicely decorated too. Theres a bit of a low entrance so mind the head on the way in and out for anyone on the taller side! We will definitely be stopping by again if we ever go down that way because it was everything we needed. Absolutely stop here!

Great little restaurant, small menu but excellent quality and daily specials. Delicious food and great service. Short waiting times and moderate prices. I highly recommend it.

Lovely cosy place by the Shannon

5 Pm visit on Easter Sun Disappointed that on today's visit €19 only got me a single slice of roast pork, one third of which was stuffing, tasty but not great for a country eateries. My Wife thought her veg had been hanging around on a hot plate all afternoon. Good service, nice spot.

Cozy place to stop in for food and drink. I had two starters for lunch, vegetable soup and fried brie salad. Both were really nice, as well as a pint of Smithwicks. Sat by the fireplace on a chilly day, it was lovely.
