The Ferry Inn in Portumna

With over 20 years on the Shannon boating, the ferry inn was never a marked stop off due to always going through the swing bridge in portumna, and heading somewhere else on the lake. But in 2025, that all changed. And it's now become a must stop off point One of the crew onboard was Hungarian, and wanted to watch Ireland and Hungary in the world cup playoffs. The Staff were very accommodating to our request and were very welcoming, food on both occasions in 2025 & 2026 was decent and the ambience is nothing like it on the Shannon or Erne. It's great value for money.

Brilliant job great food and staff were great

We were not impressed. We didn’t wait for the table but we waited for someone to take our order. The soup was really good! The decor was extremely busy. (Some of it was cute. Some of it I felt like I was in a haunted house. ). The experience felt very awkward.

I was focused on chatting , relaxing, and the Guiness Stout - not disappointed!!

Was there at6.30on Thursday evening with 3 lads and we had a superb meal The lady that serve us could not have been nicer she really welcomed us in.The food was great the service was fantastic and I would like to thank her again. The meal was good. It was lacking a little something, though, in terms of dessert and fruit. However, the dish with halloumi was delicious.

Nice atmosphere on the covered terras. Diet coke was a bit flat, but the haloumiburger made it all up. Very tasty! Food came very fast.

Quaint little place. Quite and food was home cooking. It was all delicious.

Lovely gastro pub, great food with a very cozy environment. Must visit if you are in the area
