This is a homely cafe at the fringes of the stunning Inishbofin island. Great homemade salads and quiche. Gorgeous crab claws and crab salad. The lemon meringue pie is one of the best I've tasted! 😋

Bective Tea Rooms

11/08/2025: Went here today, beautiful tearooms and landscaped patio area. Service is very slow waiting for food to come out, maybe 20 mins or more waiting on apple crumble and pancakes. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful place but the menu is expensive compared to other places similar. Pot of tea, apple crumble and kids pancakes(we had asked for regular portion but they brought a kids one) 2 very small pancakes the size of your palm for €22.75 . It would turn me off going back again to be honest, pity because it's a nice place
10/08/2025: We had an amazing afternoon tea experience where huge effort was put in to provide an all-vegan assortment of delicious food!

The Carriage House at Carton House

22/07/2025: Beautiful restaurant and great food. Well done all 👌
15/07/2025: While I enjoyed the evening spent here, I’d put a lot of that on the member of staff that looked after us. The food was good and the service was friendly throughout. Given our party size we ended up being seated outside and the weather made this quite pleasant , however as the sun started to set it was obvious that given Dublins normal weather schedule of rain, the focus hadn’t been on making the outside area as special as the inside. The setting is lovely with large trees and garden to look over but there was no fairy lights in the parasol, very little lighting at all in fact. No outdoor gas fires (unless the large black ash tray is normally a fire), no attention to detail that you’d expect from a fairmont (see fairmont whistler for the perfect example of an outdoor space done right). Tables weren’t prioritised over the inside so dirty glassware were left way longer than should have been. Out of the extensive wine list only 2 and eventually zero wines were left despite the women’s open being over a week ago so a restock should have been done. There was also a hair in one of my parties dish that was just brushed off and one of our drinks came with crud on the glass so somethings slipping abit somewhere. Nevertheless, enjoyed my evening here but expected more from a fairmont restaurant.
