We visited for the new, short-term exhibition of the Annals of Inisfallen. It was our first time visiting and we were delighted, it's small but well curated, clean and quiet. We were really glad to see the Annals on display and the exhibition itself was thoughtful and provided a lot of context for the book. It was fantastic, especially for a free public exhibition! The gift shop had some really nice things from local artisans, which is always preferable to the same mass-produced tat. It was sweet to see a plethora of beautiful books in the children's section of the shop- hell, I was even tempted by a few volumes! We also visited the café-restaurant Léa in the basement and we'd like to go back next time to eat a full meal.

I really enjoyed my visit. The museum is housed in a very modern building, admission is free, and most importantly, I found the contemporary art genuinely interesting. I saw works and artists I hadn’t encountered before, which made the visit feel worthwhile. I also really appreciated the exhibition booklets, which you can take around with you and use to learn more about the individual works. The overall atmosphere felt a little too exclusive and formal for my taste – something I sometimes struggle with in contemporary art museums – but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the exhibition itself. I also love museum shops, and while this one has plenty of beautiful things, I was disappointed that there was very little directly connected to the exhibition. I would have loved to buy a postcard of one of the artworks that stayed with me, for example. Overall, a very interesting contemporary art museum and definitely worth visiting – especially considering that admission is free.

Very spacious with several floors and a cafeteria. Natural light thanks to the large windows. Very friendly staff. Peaceful atmosphere.

Located beside University College Cork, The Glucksman is a small but enjoyable gallery that’s well worth a visit if you’re exploring this side of the city. The building itself is impressive. The contemporary architecture is eye-catching without feeling out of place, and it integrates nicely with the surrounding campus landscape. It’s the kind of building that makes you want to step inside before you’ve even seen the exhibitions. We spent around 30 to 40 minutes exploring the gallery across its three floors. The curation felt thoughtful, with artworks given plenty of space to breathe, and the layout encouraged a relaxed flow between the different exhibition areas. What stood out most was how well the gallery balances architecture and exhibition design. The spaces feel bright, open, and carefully considered, allowing the artwork to remain the focus. A fun and accessible gallery that doesn’t require a huge time commitment, but adds a nice cultural stop to a day exploring Cork.

Impressive Dinosaur Exhibition Good selection of dinosaurs on display, not just all small ones either but quite large and varied. It was free too (would have gone with the tour but the times didn't suit).

I liked the atmosphere, the museum itself is small, but interesting and there are lots of interesting staff at the gift shop. The Cafe on the first floor was really tasty.

Small museum/gallery, but very beautiful; the park setting, the building, and the different exhibitions make it very interesting.
