Really good place. Good food and excellent service. Nice to sit outside and have a cool Guinness.

We recently celebrated my godson’s First Holy Communion at Good House, and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious – freshly prepared, beautifully served, and enjoyed by everyone. The service was outstanding – friendly, professional. Thank you to the whole team at Good House for making this special day even more memorable. Highly recommended!

We stopped by chance at this restaurant on our way back from the Cliffs of Moher. Nice environment, very fast but at the same time attentive service. We ordered two “Traditional Bacon and cabbage” which we had never tried, a generous portion of very good and tender meat accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables. The only negative note was the guy who offered me drugs in the bathroom. Ample and free parking.

We've eaten at the Good House many times under the previous management. They always had two or three good veggie options under both the 'light bites' and 'mains', but along with far too many Irish restaurants, the new management has ditched all but a goats cheese salad (and possibly soup of the day, but we didn't ask) and a tofu and vegetable Massamann curry for main. Our server did suggest that the Marinara pasta could be served without the chicken or prawns, but I had to point out that Parmesan cheese is not suitable for vegetarians (containing animal rennet), and taking that out would leave a bland pasta with tomato sauce.
Curry is always an unimaginative choice as a vegetarian option, as many of us cook better curries, dahls, chillis, etc., at home. In any event, my Massamann curry arrived, scaldingly hot, fresh from the microwave, with chewy cubes of tofu and peppers in an oily coconut sauce, garnished with a pant-liner sized, rubbery naan bread and a stale-tasting popadom. I usually like Massamann curry, but there are better versions served locally. I wouldn't order it again - which, given the lack of alternatives, probably means that it will be a while before we eat at the Good House again.
This is such a shame. They could do an awful lot better.

Stopped in on March 29, 2025 on our way back from Ennis to Ennistymon. Everything was superb, from the fish chowder (best I had during my 10-day trip to Ireland or ever, for that matter). Waitress was so very personable. The highlight was when she lit a turf fire for us, which we enjoyed sitting right next to the fireplace.
