The Grafton Hotel in Dublin

Absolutely perfect stay! From arrival to (one day late) departure! The staff in both the hotel and Bartley’s bar and grill are top notch. Especially love people watching from the small outdoor ground floor terrace. (You can jusge the line at Bambino’s next door 🍕) location is a quick walk to St. Steven’s green, the National museum and gallery and St Patrick’s Cathedral where the first Irish Christians were baptized. Thank you! (Edit: there is a late night lounge in the basement, I’ll review that next stay! )

Hotel itself was excellent. Very good service at the bar for food but check-in was a bit slow and less than friendly without much information provided. Location is accessible for Dublin night life but was very loud until after 2am with club goers and arguing outside - a problem with the location and lack of noise proofing the room.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at The Grafton. We were almost in disbelief about how friendly the staff was. (We kept whispering to each other, "They must take 'nice pills.'") The people were more than merely professional--they were a true pleasure to be around. For example, each morning we went down for breakfast and were greeted by Gary Cambell, whose witty commentary on the components of the Irish breakfast (and other topics) warmed us up even before we'd had our coffee. Everybody at the hotel seemed to have a sense of humor. The accommodations at The Grafton are first-rate: the beds, the bathrooms--everything. But it's the people we remember most. The hotel clearly has a great training program, but beyond that, it seems to have cracked the code on how to hire people who are nice by nature.
