The Grainne Uaile in Newport

Stopped in for a couple of pints after the Greenway and it was lovely to sit outside by the park and the river and rest and relax. Lovely pub.

The food here was lovely, portions were generous we couldn't finish it all😅. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have a reservation but I would recommend one.

Friendly service, nice ambiance but don’t go for the food. Small portions and the veggie burger was soooo mushy.

Solid pub with decent food. If you are considering the buffalo chicken panini, you may be surprised to find it has no spicy buffalo sauce and instead has pesto on it. It's still tasty, just not what I was expecting 😀 There are a number of nearby walking/biking paths just a short walk from Grainne Uaile

Great pub...very traditional Irish pub. Best Guinness I had during our tour, had to try a few however, just to make sure !

The food was very good, especially the chicken wings, which are highly recommended. The atmosphere and service were also very good. Absolutely recommended.

Had a wonderful meal last weekend with my wife & her brother, so much so we returned 6 days later, a party of four..again, excellent. Highly recommend the louisanna wings & the Nepalese lamb curry..outstanding..but everything was beautiful. Great servers, friendly, efficient & professional. Welcoming & hardworking owners, very hands on...well done. Wishing you continued success 👏we look forward to returning soon 😋

Excellent bar food: I took a duck served in two big legs, probably the best I have had those last 30-40 years! I often take duck i the best restaurants including Michelin star, but nothing arrived at the level of the quality of this duck! Probably a true farm raised duck, living outside and semi wild! Perfectly cooked with a gentle orange sauce, and a very good mashed potato and other vegetables. The duck skin was crispy, but the flesh very soft, flavored and greasy. My wife took a monk fish, served in two big parts, also delicious with a light butter sauce and purée also. Not only the quality of the products is perfect, but it is incredibly well cooked. But the best is for the end : the bill was only 50 euros, including 3 beers! Very nice and smiling service, bringing water for our dog on this beautiful and sunny day! Marvelous dinner in this famous bar! Go there !

Great stop in Newport. We were well looked after by Mary Ann. She was good fun as well as the great service.
