The Grattan in Waterford

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. They really go above and beyond for their customers and it shows. We stopped by while it was raining out for a bit of food before our train and was greeted with nothing but kindness. We had the wings and soup, and they also prepared a toastie on request. 10/10 would recommend.

The place is nice, the food is homemade, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The worst thing is that the owner is quite intrusive; he talks a lot and takes too many liberties, in my opinion. The lady, however, is very friendly.

A really welcoming friendly bar,with a great selection of drinks and the food here is amazing too. A good seating arrangement,tv screens in good positions to view various sports esp football. A fair price for drinks and food. I highly recommend for drinks,food and grand hospitality.

A wonderful and charming Irish pub and cafe in the heart of Waterford. Incredible food, amazing service and all the charm one could hope for in one package. The proprietors are straight out of a Hallmark movie and the ambiance is off the charts. Highly recommended!!!!

An absolute amazing restaurant serving a wide variety of pub grub. The food was delicious but it was the owners/host Marta and Melisa that completely made the day, they were without a doubt the nicest people I have ever met. Thank you for making our day ❤️

I really enjoyed my time at Waterford Grattan Bar. The food was genuinely delicious, and the bar team showed fantastic hospitality from start to finish. A warm, welcoming place that I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting Waterford.

Wonderful find! Our party of 4 was in Waterford enjoying Winterval and wanted some good pub food, specifically fish and chips. A quick search led us to Grattan Bar. The ambience was lovely, the service excellent, and the food exceptional. We had 2 of the fish and chips, one bacon and cabbage, and one seafood chowder. The portions were generous and the quality outstanding. We were there at mid-afternoon, and it was a welcome, comfortable, relaxing break. Definitely a place to return to!

When you enter the charming Grattan Bar, you are greeted by the friendly owners with a warm welcome and feel like you are staying with old friends. We enjoyed delicious food in a beautiful setting with the sounds of famous hits. It is highly recommended to experience that welcome with an excellent selection of food

At the Grattan Bar we had a very nice surprise: the owners decided to serve a special Brazilian feijoada. The dish was offered in two options: • small portion for €14, still very generous; • large portion for €18, perfect for bigger appetites. I tried the small one and it was more than enough — tasty, filling, and made with good quality ingredients. The price was fair and honest, really worth it. The owners are very friendly, always smiling and welcoming. They had this great idea to bring a bit of Brazil to Waterford, and they also mentioned that they plan to prepare other Brazilian dishes in the future. The only thing I would suggest is adding some Brazilian music, to make the atmosphere even more authentic. Overall, it was a great experience that I truly recommend, especially for Brazilians living nearby who want to enjoy the taste of home. 🇧🇷

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and drinks and had an excellent time. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. We shared the beef roast which was exceptional. We had dinner at a 5 star restaurant in Dublin the evening prior and the beef roast we had here was the highlight of our trip. The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean.
