Loved, great spot! Great, organic bread.
Would love if there was a customer toilet though.

My husband took me here as a surprise on our trip to Ireland. The food here is *incredible.* We Loved every single thing we bought; we even bought an extra item to share with our family because it was that good! Especially their cruffins. We intended to come back, but just didn't have time on our short trip.
My one beef with them is that, I asked if I could buy a sourdough starter from them. The man behind the counter replied coldly and bluntly that they don't do that, going off on how they have a "complicated process to feeding it and mixing things, etc" trying to make me think it was too much or something. Frankly, as a homebaker myself with a sourdough starter we started on our own in the USA, it's offensive that I should be turned down and lectured on a process that is not in fact complicated at all. It is simple, it just requires time. And any baker always has extra.. you'd hope a baker would, at least. In fact, the reason I asked to buy one is because I've *dreamed* of having an Irish starter for over two and a half years since I started my first started and began sourdough baking thanks to Patrick Ryan from Firehouse Bakery south of Dublin off of his YouTube videos. He told us that any baker should be willing to give/sell you some of their starter, no matter where you go. They're happy to share and help you on your journey! It's not like it is a secret recipe I can use to recreate some special craft baked good and sell for a fortune...it's literally a culture of yeast that can create incredible baked goods, to name one thing it's capable of, if I take care of it, feed it, and bake with it in recipes I source myself. A baker/associate telling me that it's too "complicated to give it sell me"? Not even willing to teach or inquire as to why I wanted to buy one? Such a cold answer to my inquiry. An honest inquiry. Dude, not ok. That alone was a turn off for the space. If it's a matter of border customs, that's between myself and the agent, not the bakery.
Do I dream of their baked goods? Yes. Would I recommend going there? Yes. But are they a good spirit desirable in a bakery? Nope. Absolutely not. Perhaps work on your wording to any future customers. Be more polite and prepared to educate *properly* if you're going to rant off on why you can't do something other bakeries can do.
