The room was great and the included breakfast was fantastic! Also a perfect location for a one night stopover to fully enjoy the Latin Quarter.
However, the check-in experience really dampened our enthusiasm. Expecting Galway would be busy for St Patrick's weekend, a few months ago we researched hotel rates and reserved at HH's "special offer" at the time, €199/night. Definitely higher than every other city/town on our 2 week trip, but assumed high season in a city.
Waiting in line at check-in though, two separate parties of walk-in/no reservations ahead of us were offered the current special of almost 50% less, €105. When we asked if we could switch to this rate, we were told this was not possible, we would have had to cancel our existing reservation 48 hours in advance and then re-book at the current offer rate. The only option was being upgraded to a larger room. We had not paid for the room yet, and the reservation was directly through the hotel, not a 3rd party booking site.
Very disappointing initial impression of an otherwise enjoyable visit.

I booked at the very last minute on the bus when I arrived in Galway, and what a wonderful surprise! Everything was absolutely perfect from beginning to end.
I was greeted by a very kind young lady whose name I unfortunately forget, and then Paige took over and looked after everything with incredible care. Truly exceptional service.
The room was magnificent, incredibly quiet, soft, and comfortable. The bottle of Prosecco included in my package was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. As for the bed… simply heavenly!
The hotel is ideally located right in the city center, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic!
All the staff are smiling, welcoming, and very professional. And for such quality, the price is very reasonable.
I recommend this establishment 2000% and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return someday.
A huge thank you to the entire team!

First off, I want to highlight Thaisy for her exceptional help during my stay. I had left some important property behind, and she went above and beyond to coordinate the express shipping of my items to my next destination. Her professionalism and quick communication turned a stressful situation into a non-issue.
We had an incredible stay at The House Hotel and cannot recommend it enough. The location is excellent—safe, convenient, and perfectly situated for exploring. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast was a highlight of each morning. Emmit was also incredibly nice and helpful throughout the visit.
My wife and I would absolutely stay here again and suggest others do the same!

Nice hotel, but our shower left a lot to be desired. No instructions to use the coffee machine. No lighting at the dressing table.
Marks on the wall and room door.
A bar that had about 13 bottles of spirits, and a barman who did not know what a 'hot port" was.
The breakfast greatly lacking.
For a four star hotel needs to get things together

I'll begin this long text by listing all the things I loved about this hotel. First, the excellent location: a 10-minute walk from the bus stop when you arrive from Shannon Airport, a 2-minute walk from the famous Shop Street, and right in the heart of the Latin Quarter, home to the best pubs like The Quays and iconic spots for great fish and chips like McDonagh's. It's a 20-second walk from the Spanish Arch and very close to the sea—simply wonderful. Shops line that entire street, and along with High Street, you can reach Eyre Square in just five minutes. Right next to the hotel, there's a fantastic shop where you can buy the famous Claddagh ring. The hotel has carpeted rooms, which is rare in Spain these days as it's considered unhygienic, but we accepted it; it wasn't a problem. The room was comfortable, with two very comfortable, high beds, a coffee maker, and a kettle—a sign of high-quality service. We had a problem with the bathroom, but within a few hours the sink was working properly again. Breakfast was fine for me; there were plenty of sweet and savory options, including many to-go items if you're in a hurry. The reception staff were very efficient, and it's a lovely space to relax with tea or coffee. Now for the negatives: the exterior window has excellent soundproofing to keep out the noise from the cars outside, but it barely opens, so the room ventilation is very limited and poor. There were problems with the sink draining, and the shower wasn't watertight, so water leaked out. Additionally, the heating in the room wasn't working properly. The breakfast could be a full Irish breakfast; some days they serve sausages and eggs, other days bacon and eggs, and other days hash browns and sausages. I would have preferred to have a full Irish breakfast all at once, instead of it being divided into several days. They use a takeaway model, but there's far too much plastic and packaging for everything. The fruit was hard and of poor quality for a 4-star hotel. The coffee from the machine isn't good, and there are only two sweet options (mini croissant and mini pastry). They're missing things like donuts, brownies, cookies, muffins, etc. There's no ham, cheese, cold cuts, or any other deli meats. In conclusion, this hotel needs to improve several things, but I would definitely return. Congratulations! Thank you so much for the complimentary bottled water each day.

Its location is fantastic. Right next to Shop Street, the Spanish Arch, the Galway City Museum, and adjacent to the beautiful Long Walk and the Eglinton Canal Sea Lock. In the heart of the Latin Quarter and very close to the beach and the famous South Park, perfect for playing rugby or taking a bike ride or walking your dog. Definitely worth repeating!

This hotel boasts a fantastic location in a lovely setting, just steps from the Spanish Arch and numerous other attractions. It's incredibly comfortable and well-equipped for a pleasant stay. The staff is excellent, all very attentive and helpful, especially the Brazilian receptionist. I don't speak English, and she was a tremendous help. The room was absolutely superb, with a good-sized TV and excellent cleanliness. There's a Nespresso coffee maker and an electric kettle, which is a real plus. The water temperature and pressure were also very good. As for breakfast, it's included in the rate and is very complete, with variety and quality. A truly enjoyable hotel.
