The Hungry Lyons in Limerick

In take away it takes a long time to get your food, great atmosphere though, food was still hot on arrival as well, overall 3 stars

It's fast food, so as it goes the food is not stale, decent portions, tastes ok, Chicken burger was rather salty, milkshake was not great, very runny. The staff are ok, the cleanliness was good.

We visited Limerick from America and saw a KFC as we were leaving the city. Then we noticed the Hungry Lyons across the street and thought we would try something of a locally-based offering. Their store was clean and welcoming. They even have soft chairs almost like you would have in a living room. The server at the counter was VERY patient with us as we placed our orders. I will say the one drawback they have is that their menu screens are constantly changing. Not one of them stayed up long enough for us to read what was available. I suppose that works great for locals that know what they want, but it was inconvenient for us, having never eaten there. We finally settled on a chicken-breast sandwich with bacon for my wife, and an El Chippo burrito wrap. They both must have weigh 3/4 of a pound. I liked mine, my wife liked hers. She said the chicken was moist and tender. It was a full piece of battered chicken breast. We also had chocolate milkshakes, mixed by hand, not poured out of a nozzle. They also offered a variety of pizzas. I saw what looked like a big, domed wood-fired pizza oven on the side. Heck, if nothing else, the photographic mural they have on the hall on the way to the restroom is worth the visit. It's amazing.

Had a kids 11th birthday party after a visit to the Escape Room Limerick. We went to Hungry Lyons afterwards and then went bowling. The team at Hungry Lyons were fantastic. We had a reserved space and they even arrange plates for our cake.

Solid takeaway, food doesn't disappoint and the Moody Shakes are 👌
